Protron HDTV Cable hook up

I have a Protron 32" hdtv and I can not find the cable to hook to the cable box. It has a regular hdmi insert at the cable box and a hdtv d4 insert at the tv. A standard hdmi will not plug into the tv.

Amazing. I thought I was the only one who got that Protron/Ultra LCD. I have the D4 cable that came with the set, but it has compnonent outs which don't work with my PS3. Can't get HD with an HMDMI/DVI adapter. So if I can't find a selector that will interface the PS3 (and other HD device) with the LCDtv using the D4 inputs I'll have to get another TV. And that sux...although an updrade is long overdue.

Any insights into a 3rd party selector device?

D4 is a Japanese HD standard, which is why it's almost impossible to find any cables with a D4 connector on it in the US.

I have the same Protron TV you're talking about, but it's been rebranded as Ultra. Did you not receive a D4 cable when you bought the TV?

If not here is where you can get the cable you need: http://www.igsshop.com/product_info.php?products_id=162

or here

https://www.digitalconnection.com/store/Product_List.asp?CID=3&CAT=D4%20SCART/COMPONENT

This should allow you to get HD signal from your cable box (granted you have an HD cable box) to your TV.

Just tried to hook my aoc 22" to high definition

I beleive you have to enable audio in the HDMI SETUP so it will send the digital audio through HDMI ports, check the cable box and the TV HDMI sound setup.

How do I connect to Sharp HDTV and Comcast cable

Your dvd recorder only has rca, red white yellow inputs it wont allow you to record in HD, although you can play your comcast box any hd, regular digital through and record. Hook up the comcast box if HD through preferably HDMI if not get one from comcast. The HD box is the only box that allow HDMI, component and regular RCA and some RF out. This way you can play HD to your set but also record through RCA or RF again will not allow for HD record unless its TiVo. Hope this helps

I hooked up my HDTV with a HDMI cable but when I used the Audio L/R cables, I can't get any sound. I can get sound if I hook up the TV with regular cables but then I don't get the HDTV picture. Any...

You may have to go into the TV setup menu and change a setting for Sound (or Audio) that tells the TV which input to use (HDMI or component) for sound. Usually the HDMI connection will work automatically but if you connect cables to Audio L/R that may override the HDMI sound input.

32" protron tv

an output like ( HDMI ) would be on a dish reciever , and a hdmi input on a tv would plug into that output on the dish reciever
Is HDMI what you are trying to connect? then you would need an HDMI cable
HDTV = High Definition television , which means that you have a built in digital tuner that will pick up the digital and high definition broadcast channels with an antenna connected to the tv

Cable hook up

Most new televisions High Definition televisions in particular may not have the regular cable hook up. They generally have an HDMI connection that you connect with an HDMI cable.

To me it is similar to a computers usb connection.

What type of television do you have?
