Still, so many things can be wrong. Like a slight corroded connector or flat cable a defect integrated circuit or one that is rapidly becoming defect. I think a technician should have it on his workbench to find out what is the real problem, but that will cost.
If you did everything on the software side, like resetting, reinstalling and so on, and the error keeps coming back it must be something in the hardware. Not even wishfull thinking can change that.

i took mine in shortly after it happened, and i had to mail it to LG, and they sent me a new one. kind of a pain, but the new phone works great.

all you do is go into your security and settings and reset the phone. it will turn the phone on and back off again. but this should fix the problem and restore the ability to get into your display settings, as well as view your date and time.
