I have 10 Panasonic KX-T7730 using 8 phone lines. I've confirmed with AT&T that all 8 lines are setup for caller ID. I've confirmed that all 8 extensions have the Caller ID enabled. Two of the phones display the Caller ID on the first ring. The rest you have to pick up before it shows you anything, or they don't show anything at all. Is there a setting I need to change on each individual phone for these to work or something? HELP!
Firstly, you have not indicated which phone system your phones are connected to, e.g. KX-TA824, KX-TDA50 or other, so I'm a little in the dark. That being said, most of the Panasonic Systems only display Caller ID information (CID) to phones that are programmed to "Ring" on the line with the incoming call, and the line button flashes green to show it's ringing... so you must "system program" ringing for the line(s) on each phone. If the CID is not displayed on a particular phone, then that line is likely not programed to ring on that phone (it's light may flash red instead of green). After you "system program" the line to ring, you can still shut off the ringing sound on a phone using the slide switch on the left edge of the phone if you don't want to hear ringing, and this will not interfere with the CID display. Also, on a second note, CID does not display on the first ring coming in from the phone company (TELCO). The CID signal is sent from the TELCO to your system after the first ring has ended, during what would be the silence period that would occur before the second ring, if there was no CID. It is for that reason that most knowledgeable installers program lines with a five second delayed ring; in this way, you don't know the call has arrived until after enough time has passed for your system to receive the CID signal... this is why it seems the CID appears instantly, with an incoming call. Check out the line programming for each line and set it to ring with a 5 second delay. If you don't set up a delay, your phones will ring and if you answer the call immediately, its likely it won't allow the system to receive CID, so no CID will be displayed for that call.

Well first of the caller ID data is sent between 1st and 2nd ring. How many base units do you have, or do you have one main base and the data is sent from the base to the handsets? I would assume you have the main base, so that phone and the closest one to it are the 2 that are working? Your problem may be signal strength, I have seen a very light short on the line stop the caller ID signal and I do mean a very light short not enough to cause it to trip ring. You can try moving the extensions closer and test them and see if that works, if it does it would be signal strength. If not there is going to be a setting or it is just the way the phone was made... let me know...
The setting is not done on the phone, its done on the phone system(PBX).
What phone system/PBX Model are you using?
I assume that this is the 824 PBX.
Does the problem occur on specific extensions consistently and does it depend on which CO is being used?
Does it happen when two if more calls are incoming at the same time? Are all lines (CO) from the same Telecom Company?
Some countries/companies supply the callerid signal before the first ring and others, between the 1st and second ring. Are the setups the same?
Testimonial: "KX-TA824 is the phone box. I've counted 2 extensions that get the caller id, fits ring, no problems. All the rest so far wont display caller ID unless you pick up the phone. I've tested this early morning, so the only incoming call is my cell. All lines are through the same phone company. All lines were setup the same. I thought it might be we'd have to wait for two rings, but the two phones display on the first ring, and the other won't show anything until I pick up the phone. Any ideas?"
SOURCE: I just received KX-T7730 phone with an LCD screen
The one who can show the caller ID when someone call is the caller only. He/she can set to hide his/her number ID in their phone so we can't see it. We can't force to see this caller ID, but if this calls disturbed you, you can install call blocker and only allow certain incoming call to be recieved.
Hope his help and rate please.

CID is part of the phone system and requires a -93 card and system programming. Panasonic makes different systems that the 7730 phone works on, but it was first delivered with the TA-824 or equivalent system. It also needs to be programmed to tell it how may lines are equipped. Then, when you dial "9" to get an outside line, it will grab the highest WORKING line, instead of just the highest line.
FInd the model number on the system cabinet and do an internet search for the installation manual of the system.
