Same problem after replacing Magenta tonercartridge. Every sheet of white paper passing this printer exits with its surface 'pinked'
Could be a bend or bad contact, check to make sure that all the metal contacts that touch the cartridge are in good shape. You could also have a clogged waste toner bin on the printer. Or possibly a bad high voltage power supply.
Testimonial: "The problem suggests that magenta is always written or never written, or the laser beam for the magenta color is not swithing. I, being an Electrical engeneer, would like to find a place where the working sequence is shown and explained, and with a schematic diagram and layout of the boards I could find some places to compare the 4 colors to compare for fault finding."

Sounds like printhead needs replacement.
Moving these printers without cool down is known to destroy printheads and of course wax goes everywhere and then everything else fails.Think about replacement

If the problem re-appears and updating the firmware (from office.xerox.com) does not help you are most likely looking at a replacement processor board.
SOURCE: My Xerox 6130 keeps printing vertical pink lines on pages
your color laser printer pink vertical line appear on the roller and film drum,
1) you need check the pink drum surface, it got damage if you find there is a different color vertival line on the drum surface, so you need change the pink drum.
2) check the pink drum cleaner (call brush to return the waste toner), it can not clean well sometimes, if the drum surface good.

You need to check with Xerox , ther is some toner that was manufactured last year (2008) that was defective
the phone number for xerox support is 503-682-7377

Problem developers start leaking toner. The problem is that some times the toner spuills into developers below it and damaging them. The problem may appear as a grinding noise that may indicate a developer gear/motor problem, when in fact its a bad developer that is not running smoothly. It may be expensive, and you may have to replace ALL the Developers.
