How can I delete a Google play book?

On kindle fire you have to delete the books from your online account. Log on to amazon.com Hover mouse over list and account, click on Manage account and devices(about halfway down the list. It will bring up a list of all books you own. Place a check in the first box beside book you don't want. Check off all you no longer need and then click delete and confirm. They will be gone.

Find it there then redownload it. If you deleted the book from your "manage your kindle" while signed on to your account, it's gone forever. Remove Items from Your Content Library Permanently remove books, audiobooks, periodicals, and personal documents by deleting them from Manage Your Content and Devices.

From Your Content, change the Show drop-down menu to the appropriate category, if needed.

Select the title(s) that you want to delete, and then select Delete.

To confirm, select Yes, delete permanently.

On a desktop or laptop, log into play.google.com with your google account, go to apps, select my apps and all your apps should be there. It may appear as installed, but click on installed again to re-install them. They will automatically be installed on your tablet if you re-install them from a conventional PC

What App are you using? Kindle or Play Books? I'm not sure about Kindle but in Play Books you tap on the books settings and select "Delete from Library". The settings tab is a line of three vertical dots on the lower right side of the books icon.

I had this problem couple of times with plenty of books were 'locked' or 'corrupted'. It seems like the problems (always) happened after update.
Signing out (this will delete books from the device) and then sign in again (this will re-sync device to account's library) could solved my problem. Took a little while to reload all of the contents but it worked for me.
It seems like we can make it more simple by deleting the related books from the device (not from library!) and re-sync the device. But I haven't tried it since I don't rename files of books, then it would be harder to find which file is what book. Easier for me to 'clean' everything that reload it again.

I suggest trying to find the right app you're looking for and install it again! If it's the same program and it stored books on your device locally, and they were not removed, the books should still be there when you reinstall the program. However, if it was removed normally then usually any associated data (such as downloaded books) will be gone as well.
