Pump kicks GFI breaker. If I can't get it fixed I would like to find a suitable replacement of a different make.

PE-2.5F34 pumps (2) kick the GFI breaker. Tested with another breaker. No binds on the impeller. One would be thinking they may have an issue. One pump is 3 years old and the other is about a year old

SOURCE: Pondmaster 250: Impeller or motor broke?

pondmaster 250 comes with a 3 year manufacturer warranty you should just exchange it for a new one. Overheating from low water sounds like the issue but as long as the shaft and housing are not scarred from debris they will replace without any questions

SOURCE: Pond pump trips circuit breaker

The circuit breaker trips because there is an electrical short in the pump itself or in the wire feeding the pump. A cause of this could be a bare wire, or a crack in a wire. Remove the pump and put it in a five gallon pail of water and test it. If it still trips the breaker you will know the problem is in the pump or the cord to the pump.

SOURCE: pentair whisperflo pump will not turn on

See if you can manually operate each pump. I suspect the problem is not with the pumps themselves. Track the control from the pumps to the motherboard, which I suspect. Whatever it is, it has all the pumps in common with it. Maybe just a simple control switch that is exposed to the elements.

SOURCE: aquascape 4500 not working

Typical with these pumps, pumps I have rebuilt that have done the same thing what happens is the bearings get loos and cocks the armature that is why it won't spin. I did serious research on these pumps and came up with a rebuild kit some parts bought some I make. I did mine 2 years ago and still working like a champ and have done over 20 locally with no problems. If your pump is noisy or the impeller has fallen off (typical) due to water getting in the unit and causing the bearings to fail email me and I can rebuild your pump. The process is simple send me the pump I will look at it and see if it can be rebuilt at NO CHARGE if it can be rebuilt you will save over 60% of a new one. Don't spend $349 - $599 on a new one let me look at it for free if I can rebuild it great if not you will have to buy a new one. I am not a dealer for any pumps so you will not have to worry about me selling you a pump and if you want the old one back pay the shipping and it it all yours.

Ge 50amp gfci trips, worked great before I bought it

Hi hondo,

When an electric motor kicks on there is an in rush current called FLA(full load amps), it is usually about 125% of rated circuit amperage. Try a 2 pole 60 amp gfci circuit breaker and see if that solves your issue. Going up to this amp breaker will not be a fire hazard or cause any anomalies.

My spa hums for a few seconds then kicks off. No flow. lights and control display are working.

Is the shut off occuring @ the GFI? & is there an error code displayed on your topside?

If the breaker is kicking off, the best way to troubleshoot is to disconnect all components, (pumps, heater, circ, etc.) & then plug one in & turn the breaker on. repeat the process until you locate which component is tripping the breaker.. then you know whats causing the trouble

2E 38N two year old pump runs for twenty minutes or so now and shuts off or shorts out. I reset gfi and can get another twenty minutes shortly thereafter. Noticed the green rubber/plastic housing has worn...

I would, if its kicking out the gfi that means the integrity of the electrical components of the pump are compromised.Either a cord leak or seal leak, buy a new one, cheaper than fixing it

Breaker kicks off as soon as switch is turned on

the gfci is defective from moisture even after they dry they can be defective, access the cord inside the machine and try a different cord and see if this is your problem, otherwise the pump motor could be bad,the bypass valve on the pump could be bad,if you could run it you could check current draw with an amprobe, but not if it wont start

My gfi reset everytime the savio pump plugin

I am assuming when you say GFI you are meaning GFCI, Ground Fault Circuit Interruptor. If the pump is throwing the smaller breaker on th plug than the pump is more than likly drawing too many amps for the plug. Make sure the GFCI outlet is rated for the same number of amps as the pump. That is a good sized pump and when it kicks on it draws a lot of power.

My dishwasher kicks off and pops the GFI why

This is a common problem as the pump motor and the heater often pull more amps than the GFI is rated at. Try another power source that does not have a bunch of other things running off the same breaker.

Even the lowest drawing commericial dishmachines must be wired to a "dedicated" 20 AMP breaker.

Forget using an extention cord as this will also defeat your purpose.

I have a Rule 1800 H53SP-24 Swimming Pool Cover Pump. Everytime I plug it in it trips the breaker. Did not have this problem with the same pump a month ago. Tried in GFI and all other outlets. Any...

Hello. There are several possible issues here which are all fairly easy to investigate. Begin by bringing your pump, cord and hose into a warm space for 24 hours to thaw everything out, warm it up and dry it out. Then try it. If it works, you know you have one of the problems described below:
1. Sometimes a circuit breaker wears out and needs to be replaced. Try your pump on a different circuit, insuring that you are using a different circuit breaker. IF it works there, the solution is to replace that worn circuit breaker. 2. Check the impeller and remove any clog, blockage, debris or residue. 3. The 24 foot cord on your pump might have a cut, or a scrape on it. If it does, water is getting into the insulation and causing the circuit breaker to kick. Check your cord thoroughly and if you do have a break in it replace the cord or repair it with a waterproof repair. 4. Your pump motor may be worn or faulty or have a water intrusion. In that case the only fix is to replace the pump. 5. The drain hose could be frozen. If it is, that blockage could cause the breaker to kick. Always ensure that the hose runs consistently downhill.

My pump stopped working after 1 month. It was running loudly then kicked the GFI in the plug and wont reset now.

unplug from gfi reset and plug something else in and see if it works, no then bag GFI, yes then sounds like pump is faulty return to place of purchase i would not recommend trying to fix yourself as some one could get electrocuted in pool if theres any mistake
