Sorry, it 'WILL NOT' charge a 4G Nano on this Dock no matter which adapter you use!!
Clear Adapters have small numbers on them which relate to different iPods - A reference sheet relating to these numbers is enclosed with the Adapter Pack!
Unfortunately, this is a fairly common problem with many small consumer electronics. The way that the devices are manufactured, there is an IR receiver that is soldered onto the PCB inside the unit. Sometimes this circuitry fails. There aren't any options on the Radial that would turn the option the remote off. Your best bet is that if the unit is still within the return period of the store you purchased it at, to return if. If it is outside of the return policy, I would give JBL consumer line a call to get the unit serviced, or get a replacement. Good Luck!
Bit late! Just remove the four rubber feet underneath (self adhesive). Take out the four philips screws. It's a bit of a mess inside - you'll have to remove the connectors and some screws to get to the i-pod connector. You dont need to remove the button pcbs just the main board. The i-pod connector pcb is on the end of the grey ribbon cable connected to the main board (the button end of the unit).
I have had exactly the same problem having bought a JBL Radial Micro for my partner for Xmas for use with the Ipod Nano, i contacted JBL via their website and was advised to contact Harmen on 01707278100. I was advised that the new ipod nano (chromatic) would not charge on the JBL radial micro. They stated that this was due to Apple changing the charging pin in the new nano. I have since bought a JBL Stage III. I contacted Harmen before buying this and was advised that the Stage II would not work. Hope that this is of use.
