Hi David,
The first thing I would check would be water level in all the toilet tanks on this system. If the level is too high in any one of them you may be getting a very slight amount of water overflowing into your toilet which could cause the pump to kick in as described.
If the water level is clearly below the the top of the overflow tube. If that is not the problem I would then check to see that you have the correct adjustment on the high/low pessure setting screws. It is important that there is sufficent pressure differences between the two or it will behave as described. Another possibility is the air pressure level in your pressure tank. Make sure it has adequate pressure as per manufacturers instructions. Finally if none of the above were the problem I would invest in a LINEAR one way valve (about $25.00) and install that between the pump and your pressure tank.
If your problem is still un-resolved then you do have a leak somewhere and will have to track it down... hot water tank, dish washer, clothes washer....
Good Luck
Alan

The problem is not in your pressure tank. Its in the well pipe going to the well, or down in the well casing. You have a leak in that pipe. This lets the pressure go down even when you have the whole house shut off. If you have a submersible pump, you will have to have it pulled and the pipe replaced. If its in the pipe going from the house to the well casing, you will have to dig it up and find the leak. Usually you will see water coming from the ground or the ground sunken in if there is a leak in the pipe from the well to the house.

When turned on ,pump runs for about 8 to 10 sec. stops, then starts back up then repeats as long as water is on

You have a waterlogged pressure tank. To fix this problem, follow these steps:

1. Determine your cut in pressure by looking at the pressure gauge and seeing when the pump turns on.

2. Shut off the electric to the pump and shut off the main water to the house.

3. Drain the water from the pressure tank completely. You can do this by opening the drain at the bottom the the pressure tank.

4. With a air compressor and tire gauge (don't use pressure gauge on the pump) put enough pressure in the tank so that it is two psi less than the cut in pressure. So if your pump turns on at 30 psi, put 28 psi in the tank.

5. Turn the power back on to the pump and let it run till it shuts off.

6. Turn the water back on to the house.

7. This should fix the problem. If it does not, the bladder in the pressure tank is bad and the whole tank needs to be replaced.

This is a general fix without knowing your make and model of pump or pressure tank. This is a universal way of fixing this problem.

Grundfos JPF4A pump. takes a long time to get up to prime then once it kicks in after running water it gets to 50 shuts of but drop pressure instantaneously and kicks back in again. The constant on off...

The check valve is bad. When the system builds up pressure and shuts off the check valve prevents water from dropping back down the well line. When the check valve goes bad water drops back down the well line and siphons water back out of the well tank causing the switch to kick on and off constantly. The check valve will between on the well line coming from the drop pipe. It may be making a constant rattling noise as pump is running. Replace the check valve and you should be fine. Also check the pressure in bladder tank it should be 2psi below the "cut-in" pressure for the switch.

Cannot fill gas tank on 2002 Kia sedona. Even when you only pump 1 gallon, the pump clicks off like it is full. We have taken off the hoses but did not see any blockage.

I have a Kia Sedona 2005 and I can't fill it up with gas without the pump kicking off and I have tried several gas stations. Sometimes I can get a few gallons in with no problem but then it kicks off again and I have to spend twenty minutes dripping fuel into it until I loose patience. Help me!

Can your gas tank breathe? Is your fuel filter clogged? Might there be something in the tank that would obstruct the flow of fuel?

Check the tank by loosening the top to allow air to enter.

I have a 3/4 h.p. 4'' sub. pump. when the holding tank level drops enough to allow the float to drop and open the valve to allow well water to enter the holding tank, as soon as the pressure drops enough...

The control box is always connected to the power
supply, that why it got power even the pump is not running. However, it does not consume much energy
as when the sub. pump is running. The operation of your pump is fully automatic. There's liquid level controller inside the well and a water level controller (float switch) at the holding tank. I believe there's nothing wrong with your sub. pump. Everything is
normal. If the control box senses abnormality, it
will just shut the sub. pump off. Just send in your e-mail if you need our assistance. God bless you.
