The main menu icon is the problem. The image is not clear.it is like 3 or 4 of the image overlapping. One does not recognise the icon proper.
I have tried different solutions but to no avail.I have tried reset, formatting, deleting and reinstalling but none solved the problem.
The startup image is ok only the manu icon but when any from the icon is sellected it gives the normal desired result.
The device functions normal except for the menu icon.I read a write that pin the problem to "theme file"but no means of having the theme file while the web links are dead.
The on-screen- display is not working as normal but all other are functioning as normal. The problem lies on the "theme file"
Please how can I get the theme file and how to apply it so as to correct the

1- 40 gb hard disk
2- battery pack similiar to the cordless phone battery packs
3- integrated panel with LCD and control buttons; usb port; power port; av in/out port.
when the unit hangs on initialize; this mean the hard disk is not responding. you can hit the recessed reset button and and power it back on. if the hard disk is OK this should clear up the issue.
if the hard disk is bad (crashed) then you need to replace the disk. Usually a fitjitsu 40GB notebook drive
also if the unit was dropped; constantly banged; etc then the cable to the hard disk to the integrated panel may be loose. The disk to cable is pinned and doesn't come loose but the other end of the cable is taped to the integrated panel and can come loose if the unit is not handled properly.
finally if the boot up files are corrupt; then you should be able to see it on the pc with the usb connection.
In this case you need to download and restore the files as discussed in the other solutions. Basically mustek has a website with all the drivers.
yeah, man, i did the same. cracked the glass, without damage to the screen, and then just made one myself, cutting it out from a cd-box and then glued it on :)
The PVR h140 works on mpeg1 or mpeg4 format.
If you need to convert avi files for example you will need a third party conversion programme such as Nero7 or similair free programmes.
