The shuddering started happening at the beginning of embroidering. Once it got going it stopped. Now, it starts at the beginning of regular stitching and then the fuse blows.
The fuse is blowing because the wheel is tight. This causes an increase of load on the motor which in turn blows the fuse.
I would look at the upper and lower shafts for thread wraps or dirt, properly lubricate the bushings, turn machine by hand and try to find tight spots. no sense putting in a new fuse until the problem is fixed

SOURCE: The bobbin grinds when I start to so
Hi, Sounds like a bobbin case related problem. Unplug the machine, then remove the needle plate to get access to the black bobbin case. Inspect the underside of it VERY carefully for ANY marks or roughness. You can expect very fine 'scratches', but no chunks or rough bits. Now check the metal rim that the bobbin case sits on is PERFECTLY smooth. particularly look for any tiny burrs on the top or inside edge of the rim, or any sign of a needle hit. Should not be any! If there are, the mechanic shoul fix it at no extra cost cos he missed the problem. Whilst checking the bobbin case, look for ANY marks on the top surface of it. The SLIGHTEST mark WILL upset the sewing. Hope this assists!
SOURCE: thread gets caught on bobbin and jams
You may need a new bobbin case if your machine is an older model.. Over time the cases get nicks in them causing thread to catch on it. Have you lubricated the bobbin area? Needs one drop of oil for every ,I believe it is 25 hours of usage. That may take care of it. The oil goes under the bobbin right in the center of bobbin case. Remove your bobbin before applying the oil. i hope this helps you. Good Luck
SOURCE: Oiling my Janome Gem Gold
Janome Gem are self lubricating. Silicon is embedded in the gears and releases as it runs. If the machine is put away and not run every so often it will lock up. The hand wheel may have thread caught up around it. The Gems aren't assembled to be dissembled except to change the light bulb.

Your fuse is blowing because there is a bind in the machine. Did they service the machine when they replaced the fuse? If yes, it should be under warranty. Best guess is that it is tight from lack of lubrication, usually at the bushing nearest the hand wheel.

You really need a size 16 needle that won't bend and miss the hook by the sound of it....can you sew on less challenging thicknesses OK ??
If not, the timing may need adjusting...here is a link to assist:
