All you need to do is just Download Chromecast app from the Google Play store. Unfortunately, the Chromecast doesn't support 5 GHz WI-Fi and is stuck on the 2.4GHz band; the 2.4GHz band is quite congested with traffic (especially if you reside in a huge apartment complex where there maybe you're surrounded by dozens of routers). Rest those who are new to this streaming device can get the Google Chromecast Download by stepping ahead to the Google Play Store.

Physically hold down the button on your Chromecast for at least 25 seconds or until the solid light begins flashing.

Chromecast not working

Is the chrome cast setup correctly? If yes, then make sure they're in the same wifi network. Other wise you can try unplug and plug chrome cast and reboot the wifi to see if that fixes it.

Load the chromecast app on your phone first. You need to run it to get the device to connect with your network. Run the app. You will get a code on the screen of the TV. The app will ask if the code it is showing matches the one on the TV. Once this is done you can now select the little box (chromecast icon) and then pick your device.

Does the net gear 98 work with chrome cast

If this is a wireless router, your chrome cast device should pick up the signal if within reach. Make sure there is power to the chrome cast. Be sure the router is emitting Wi-Fi signal (test with a tablet or smart phone to make sure). Power cycle both devices (turn off-unplug-wait five minutes-reconnect and switch on) then attempt connection once again.
