if the line is horizontal and kind of rolls up the picture, or you get a dark picture at first, its probably a bad capacitor. there are 2 - 100uf 16v caps that go bad c2p05 and c2p08 on the signal board
if the picture just shrinks, it can be these caps bad, or maybe your pump up cap on the vertical IC
Your problem is capacitors CP204 and CP205 by the 9 volt regulator on the main board. Cp204 is a 47 microfard @ 50 volt and the other is 100 microfard@ 16 volts
Hi, I have a Philips 29PT9009/12 TV. Recently I have begun to see horizontal green lines on my tv, when either watching a dvd or watch tv. This has gotten worse and now the green lines are more visible and the background is now turned a shaded green. Please help me. Thanks in advance
I get the exact same issue, exepct now it never clears up. I have tried to find someone to come look at it but no one does "house calls" anymore and everyone I call makes it sound so easy to just toss this beast in a car and bring it in. One of the repair techs said the issue sounded like the board had been zapped by a lighting surge...but of course there was no way to be sure unless I brought the set in.
