SOURCE: need to know which gas line to put the fuel filer

The one that goes directly to the carburetor. The other is most likely the primer bulb return. The filter hose needs to be long enough to reach all corners of the tank as saw is moved. HTH

SOURCE: i need to know how to replace the sprocket on

It is a Poulan PP4620(dependent on clutch adjuster - AV, AVHD, AVL or AVX)
Poulan.com/CurrentModels (Check in Illustrated Parts List (IPL) box)
http://www.poulanpro.com/node4043.aspx
Type just the model numbers (choose the suffix after the list is provided).

All 4 of these display an outboard clutch, use this as a removal guide:
R² Drive Link Outboard Clutch by Drivelink.blogspot.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdqkIuVNUQc

  1. Check the IPL for your saw to see if any special tools are needed. Poulan (Craftsman, Jonsered, Husky) clutch removal tool part number 530031112 if needed, is under $5 from many sources (look at the visible area between the weights if 2 small round sockets are visible you need the tool).
  2. There are metal piston stops available, when square (almost never) with the piston top these work well, if not square they have been known to punch through the piston. I suggest a length of nylon rope (nothing left behind) be used instead of the piston stop (retain 6" ± so you can remove it). Make sure the piston is near the top of the cylinder before feeding the cord or it can fall through the exhaust port and damage the piston as it rises.
  3. Everyone I have ever removed had a left handed thread (tighten it to loosen it).

SOURCE: how do you replace spring on a poulan chainsaw

A Poulan "P4018WT Gas Saw Type 1" IPL follows (may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/P4018WT-Gas-Saw-Type-1/75.P4018WT-Gas-Saw-Type-1.1.59.1.html
If yours is not a "Type 1" it can be found here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
The dash number of your serial number is the type.

If the spring is unwound:
Recoil Spring Rewind
I invert and secure the starter housing and rewind the spring large coil to small (need eye protection and both hands). I am right handed so I tension the spring enough to insert it inside the previous coil while holding what has already been installed with my left about 180° from my right hand. The tension will hold the spring in the housing once completely rewound. Then bend slightly the inner most part to engage the starter spool. The video explains how to tension the spring.

A link to a Poulan "PP4620AV Gas Saw” follows (may not be your saw):
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/PWE/PP4620AV-Gas-Saw/75.PP4620AV-Gas-Saw.1.59.1.html

If not your model number all IPLs can be found here:
The IPL (exploded parts list) for your saw is beneficial with disassembly/reassembly:

The dash number of your serial number is the type.

The 4620 link has an outboard clutch remove it as demonstrated here (chain brake must be released else difficult to remove the clutch cover and impossible properly to reinstall):

How do I replace starter rope on a poulan 445 pole saw?

I have pulled out the spark plug and stuffed some rope into the cylinder. The piston will then not be able to travel the full distance and will keep the clutch from turning. Use rope that will not shed particles. This will let you remove the clutch bell.

Poulan 42 cc chain saw that is hard to pull the rope like the compression release is not working. How do I repair it?? Built in 2007

I do not think they had a compression realese on a saw that small, it is more likly to be an issue with the starter, remove the screws and take away the starter does it pull easily off the saw? if it is ok try turning the engine with the flywheel, is the flywheel rubbing the ignition unit, the gap here should be 0.5mm.

Chainsaw pull cord wont tension up

Its almost certainly made by Poulan.
This may help you find an IPL at Sears, they are available:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/modelHelp.pd?modelNumberId=29
This lists all Poulans. It will be difficult to find your saw but it is here:
Poulan.com
http://www.ordertree.com/modelinfo/POULAN-WEED-EATER/75.59.html
It sounds as though the starter spring is broken.
This thread explains how to reinstall the spring.
http://www.fixya.com/support/t1839024-broken_recoil_spring
The IPL for your saw shows all the parts and provides an idea of how they fit together. GL

HOW TO TAKE THE MAGNITO OFF OF A 306A POULAN CHAINSAW

I can't find your model number at Poulanpro.com but in all the chainsaws that I have worked on the starter rope comes in the cover which is held on by usually 4 or so screws. I suggest that you go to the site I listed and look at the 42 CC engine (they have a parts manual for it) before removing anything else. Let me know if I can help further.
