More than likely, the cartridge needs replaced. Most cartridges are fairly simple to replace; just remember to shut off water to the shower valve, prior to replacing the cartridge.

SOURCE: leaking shower head

Not unless you had a backward plumber , If the diverter at the faucet is open for tub, then no water will go up the shower, The shower may hold enough water up there to make it look like a drip, Even if the valve was leaking all the time, it would not go up, it would come out the faucet. It only works with pressure. Unless the valve was plumbed wrong,,, Hope this helps.

Shower dripping

The shower drips because one of the water shut off valves is leaking. The video linked below will show you how to make this repair much better than typed words can. See

If replacing the seal does not cure the problem, then the entire valve stem needs to be replaced.

No water flow from new american standard marquette showerhead

I think fitting of your shower is not proper. You have to fit it properly if you can or you can call a nearest Plumber to solve your problem.

I have a steam shower cubicle and when the water is switched off it still drips from the shower head,it only stops if I run the hot water tap in the sink

Most likely the issue is the unit is not isolating the water when turned off. Inside the shower valve will be an on off valve that will likely look like thus 06a0e29a-a81e-4b1d-b746-6d8bf0394774.jpg if you can locate one of these and replace your dripping will be resolved. Alternatively if this is only dripping from the larger monsoon in the roof, this can drip for a while after use as it holds a fair bit of water.

Can also try selecting one of the other features when not in use such as he back massage jets ( if you have a 3 dial valve) if it still drips then the problem will almost certainly be a replacement on/off valve

My steam shower is dripping water when it is turned off... all water is turned off.. please contact me since my water is dripping and is costing me money! the drip is where the steam comes out.. my number...

You have to turn main water off to house, then in side shower head is a gasket / otherwise known as a 0-ring, that needs replacing. Yes, a 50 cent part is causing this. If you don't know how to replace shower head 0-ring, just take shower head to any home depot, they will put it inn for you. Just make sure you turn main water line to house off, otherwise real leak. Let me know if helps. Thanks mike

My shower will have been turned off for hours all of a sudden it gives one large gush [drip] then will not drip for a while but will do so intermittantly. ps. this is a shower not a bath tub / shower

This is not necessarily an issue, air enters slowly and eventually lets some water escape. This may happen until the water is lower than the highest point of the shower discharge circuit.

Dripping showerhead mirasport 8.5 kw - shower is approx 15 yr old when switched to off continues to dribble then drip for hours after

It is normal for instantaneous electric showers to drip after shutting down. However, yours sounds as if the water stop valve is failing.
You could have this replaced ( or even cleaned out, sometimes they can be affected by calcium build-up on the seal) but realistically it's probably best to consider unit replacement....15 years is an excellent service span for an instantaneous electric shower.
Hope this helps.

A single handle delta shower control lets water drip through shower head when shut off......how do I fix it ?

Make sure the drip is continuous because the shower head will drip for a few minutes until it empties out. Replace the cartridge or washer kit if it keeps dripping.

Dripping shower head

If it is dripping from the connection where it goes to the water spout you can unscrew the connection and wrap teflon tape or Pipe Joint Compound on the Threads. Now you can Thread the Shower Head Back on, with No Leak. IF..... It is leaking from the Shower Head Itself There May Be a Problem with the diverter handle/lever. If it has a Pull Type Lever, sometimes you can screw the Lever up or down for the proper water restriction to the Shower Head. However if the Hot and Cold Handle/Lever is OFF, There should not be any Water coming out from anywhere! If water is coming out off the Tub Spout, with the Shower Off, then you will have to replace some washers or Cartridges in the faucet(s) to stop the dripping. You can do this easily....Just Ask) Remember though, that some shower Heads may Drip for a Few Minutes After they are Turned off. There is still water in the Supply neck and needs to escape, either though the tub Spout or Shower Head.......Hope this Solution Helps you with your Drips.....Joe
