TV goes off suddenly. Searching for connection.

Two issues: 1) When I turn on the TV after a couple of seconds, instead of the TV starting, I get a notice stating "searching for connection" and the TV never shows a picture or sound. 2) When watching TV it'll suddenly go blank and silent. Sometimes it'll come back on and continue fine, sometimes it continues going off intermittently and eventually will stay blank and no sound. Sometimes when I turn it back on it will remain, but most often I'll get the message that it's searching for a connection.

'Searching for connection' sounds like it's looking for a network link. check your internet connection. If it's supposed to be watching cable or broadcast TV, check the setup menu.

SOURCE: Power shuts off

Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. It's possible that it maybe a bad capacitor or transformer on the power supply board. The most common thing to go out is the circuit board that supply power to the screen. Commonly called a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say it's 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet.

If by chance the TV is still under warranty, go that route.
If not under warranty and If you have some electronic experience, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, test points, and part# lists. Usually, cost under $20. And most cases the new part cost less than $15.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

SOURCE: Plasma Picture going in and out

It sounds like you have a bad solder connection on the video board. Most likely, you will have to take the set into a shop and have it fixed unless you are familiar with electronics.

SOURCE: LG 37LC2D TV - after

This is a sort of slow start up and it can be a fault in the Power supply as the voltage builds up or in the display drive section where the fault seems the same as a circuit trying to act upon. There is a defined failre but only if the observations of the voltages are taken out and confirmed.
Start with the Power supply and check if the filter and storage capacitors are topped up with the designed voltage, if there is slow build up then check the reason if in the drive for poor swithching or a poor capactior.
Next check the same with the main board , look for IC's getting warm , if so use a freeze it to cool and set the picture to start up therby confirming the IC. repeat check, observe for heat and changes in voltage.respond

Why did my Kolin DLT-3212M LCD tv picture suddenly go green

Are you connected with a box of some kind via the component input on this set? (red, green, blue connections?

If so unplug that box and wait--plug it back to see if the box will reboot and correct the issue--also you can try to swap green cable itself with blue for example and if then have BLUE issue that cable is bad.

I was watching TV and suddenly the screen went black. No picture, no sound. On/off timer LED on TV started blinking. I could not turn it on (or off) with remote or ON switch on TV. I found that if I...

The television is shutting itself off to protect itself. The blinking light is a code pattern. The specific code determines whether or not you need an LCD Controller Unit, Main Board, power supply or something else. You would need the service manual. There are parts distributors you can get it from and the parts as well. If soldering and tv repair is not something you are entirely familiar you may want to seek a tv repair person. The manufacturer's support may walk you through the service menus to complete a factory reset depending upon the symptoms.

Monitor problem

You need to figure out if the monitor is faulty or if it is due to the power in your house (not likely) or the fault of the computer.
  1. Try the monitor on other power jacks.
  2. Try the computer on other monitors and see if you get the same response.
If it seems to just be the monitor then you will most likely have to have it serviced or replaced. Is it still under warranty?
