Try a product called "Pratley Putty" if you can find it at your local hardware. It is a two part epoxy putty that you mix and then use as a repair agent. If you cant find it locally, e-mail me via FixYa, give me your details and I'll try source some for you or find out from the manufacturer who is local for me if thjey have an outlet in your area.

Can I drop-on this sink? or only undermount it? Thanks, Brooke

You are only restricted to undermounting these sinks because of there depth in relation to the siting of the tap, that's all. Remember if you place this sink on top you willhave to discreetly raise the tapbase fixing to maintain easy use of the taps

My Swanstone sink is sixteen years old and still in very good condition except for a small chip. The sink is a cream color with black and white specks. Is there any way to repair the sink?

You should be able to have a competent repair or restoration specialist from a reputable granite or marble fabrication shop come to your home and fix the problem. If it is a very small chip (less than an eighth of an inch around, my first try would be super glue. Keep in mind the fill will be fairly clear in color, which may match the dark specks, if not use an indelible marker after you smooth the glue to color it black. Use the gel type super glue if it is on a vertical portion of the sink, otherwise use a thinner variety. Clean the chip with sop and water, let it dry then use rubbing alcohol to remove any grease or oil residue. Use a masking type tape to isolate the chip so you have less work once the glue dries. Fill the chip and once the glue is dry, use a single edge razor (Use extreme caution, razors are by nature sharp) to gently scrape, not cut the glue flush to the sink surface. The manufacturers of these sinks claims they are difficult to scratch, but pay attention to your pressure or you might create scratches on the sink itself. Hold the blade perpendicular to the surface of the sink and take your time scraping the dried glue down changing to a fresh blade often. If the chip is in a radius area of the sink, you will have to be a bit more creative and probably use steel wool to remove the excess dried glue. I would start with #000 and see how that works, maybe using #00 to start the process and finish with #000 or #0000 steel wool to match the finish of your sink. If your chip is larger than an eighth of an inch around, I would recommend hiring a repair and restoration specialist from a competent granite fabrication shop to make a color matched epoxy to fill the blemish.

I have a white Franke fireclay sink. We also have very hard water despite using an undersink filter. The sink is part of a new remodel and despite little use so far and lots of wiping, the water spots seem...

The best product I have found to remove water spots is a product called A-maz water stain remover in a 14 oz tub. There is no magic "wipe on,wipe off" product that I have found. Initially it is a little labor intensive but this is amazing stuff and can return your sink to its original luster.

This company also make a sealer but I have not tried it. A couple of alternatives might be Rain-X or Maguires auto wax. The concept here is to put a barrier down that will seal the pores of the sink and make it easier next time to remove the spots. My favorite is Maguires about every 3 months. I have provided a link below to the A-maz web site where you can find a distributor nearest you.

Will my copper sink still look good in years to come?

It all depends on the coating on the sink.

When exposed to air, copper will naturally oxodize and develop a blue/green coating or a dark brown coating that is called a patina.

In order to prevent the copper from developing a patina, it would need a clear coating of some sort to keep the copper away from the oxygen. The type and quality of these coatings vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and you would need to find reviews for your particular sink in order to evaluate them. There are even blends of copper and stainless steel to give you the benefits of both.

Most copper sinks will be uncoated and the manufacturers recommend waxing them to slow the patina process. When all this is said and done, even if your sink does turn green, treatment with a copper polish will remove the patina and bring it back to a bright copper look.

I have a brown colored stain in the bottom of my white franke white fireclay sink (maybe coffee stain, not sure) I can't get it clean with regular hand soap which is what franke told me to clean the sink...

I used Cerama Bryte for the dark colored stain, I left it on for about 5 minutes and then rubbed it clean, the stain is gone. Now I tried it on the small aluminum scratch marks, no thank you, it couldn't help that problem. Still seeking a solution. Thanks

K8S-LA mobo heat sink fell off.

That is the 'Northbridge' chip that provides the I/O interfacing for the main chip. The heat sink is normally held on with glue as you surmised, and should be re-done with a thermal conductive glue. The glue (a silver filled epoxy) is available from MCM electronics or from Mouser. Be sure to thoroughly clean the chip and heat sink before re-gluing.
