My Oliso isn't heating. The back end of the iron gets warm but no heat to the sole of the iron. Could this but a broken connection from the cord to the inside of the back panel? I can't give up my Oli

You would have to take it apart and check the following in this order with a multimeter.

Element continuity.
Switch operation.
Thermostat.
Wiring plug to internal junction terminals

take it in to an appliance repair shop( possible cord problem) otherwise consider a new one as repairs past a cord are uneconomical to repair

get the iron hot. Take a piece of fabric and a dryer sheet. Put the dryer sheet between two layers of fabric. Place this at the edge of your ironing board. With the iron hot, run the sole place over the "fabric/dryer sheet set" several times. This will remove wonder under and many other adhesives from your iron.

The most likely cause is a faulty temperature sensor. The Iron is most likely shutting itself off because it believes that it is already at the correct heat. The less likely scenario would be a faulty heating element. In either case you will not be able to fix this yourself.
Check that the Iron is correctly plugged into a working outlet as that often tends to be the solution we all miss.

try to open the terminal box of your flat iron use the ohmmeter test one prod on line one of service cord of plug to line one if you got a resistance or continuity it means line one of your cord is ok together with the line 2 test it possible your cord damage or try to test the heating element if has a resistance it means good or try to adjust the setting on rotate knob or fuse busted replace it.

Yes you most likely can, they are very simply consisting basically of, a switch, a thermal fuse, a thermostat, and an element.. all wired into the Phase wire, the neutral, is simply the return. Take it apart and draw a diagram of how it all goes together and reverse the procedure.
