Hi
Usually the mute for speakers is in the "system tray" in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. If you click on the loudspeaker icon you will rig up a small box with a slider to adjust volume and a loudspeaker symbol below this. Clicking the loudspeaker toggles the mute on and off.

Mute sound is on how do i turn my sound back on my hp laptop

Check the "F" keys at the top of the keyboard - there should be one that has a speaker icon with a line through it - if you hit that it should un-mute it. Secondly: click on the speaker icon on the bottom right of your desktop - if it has a red line through it , it is muted. click that to unmute it. Good luck!

HOOKED ALL MY SPEAKERS UP BUT SUB AND CANT GET ANY SOUND FROM FM OR TV THAT I HAVE HOOKED UP AM I MISSING SOMETHING ALSO THERE IS A LIGHT THAT SAYS SOUND MUTE BY FM

From the remote control ONLY:

Press MUTING to mute the sound through all

speakers and headphones connected.

"MUTING" appears on the display and the

volume turns off (the volume level indicator goes

off).

To restore the sound, press MUTING again so that "OFF" appears

on the display.

• Turning MASTER VOLUME on the front panel or pressing
VOLUME +/- on the remote control also restores the sound.

Is there a way to mute the sound?

there are no ways to mute the sound but the volume switch will lower the volume to an unrecognizable by human sound. If you want sound push it the other way.

My sound has a red x

You might of just muted the sound actually. When there's an x with a circle around it, usually the sound is muted. Whether it was muted from your keyboard or muted from right clicking and selecting the properties. Try un-muting it.
