SOURCE: Leapster screen not working

Apparantly, the Leapster screen issue is a common problem. While this suggestion is not ethical and since my game was near perfect condition, I went to Wal-Mart and bought a new one of the same color and then returned the broken one.

SOURCE: My daughter has a Leapster 2 (pink) hand held

Remove the game cartridge, while holding down the button with the "?" turn the unit on. Then the screen should tell you to press the "A" to calibrate the stylus. Finish the calibration by touching the crosshair when it appears. After I did this everything was fine. Good luck ....thaks to Nicksdad who posted this response to a previous post. Worked for me...try it.

SOURCE: My son's Leapster 2 game won't recognize the SD

Try using a smaller card. Their website says anything over 2Gig is not recommended.

I turn on my daughter's Leapster 2. I sign in. I click "Cartridge Game". The screen goes black & then It goes back to the "Leapster 2" screen, followed by the "if you...

You have to make sure that your Cartridges is clean. Try to vacum of blow both of the cartridge hole and also the place where you put the cartridge, Sometime very small tiny dirt will makes that the cartridge cannot be recognise by the console.

Instead of 1 starter game and a few demo game that you get from Leapfrog Connect, you can also get more downloadable games for your Leapster 2. You can get it here:

How do you calibrate the leapster learning game system?

  • Follow these steps to calibrate your Leapster Learning Game system -
  1. Remove any game and turn the Leapster off.
  2. Turn the unit on.
  3. When the sign in screen appears immediately press and hold down "home"(house), "hint"(question mark), and "B" buttons together for 4 seconds.
  4. Now you will see a few options.
  5. Press the "A" button for the touch calibration option.
  6. Now just touch the stylus on the cross-hairs and it will be calibrated.
  7. Now you want to restart the unit.
  8. Redo the steps if this should not work the first time.

When we inserted a new game cartridge (Pet Pals made for Leapster & Leapster 2) we get a question mark on the screen. We've changed the batteries and the old game cartridges are working fine. Please...

its not recognizing the game, contact is probably dirty. take an eraser and rub the contacts of the cartridge and get them super clean, blow out ALL the debris and that should fix it.
good luck!

I managed to download only 2 games on my sons leapster2 handheld. How do I get the rest of them??

You actually can download all 4 starter games and 9 of mini demo games. But you need to have 4 Leapster 2 console to download each of the starter and some demo games and then combine the games in your PC. I just got mine here:
http://leapster-2.blogspot.com/

But I'm afraid it is not free. But it is cheaper rather than buying 4 leapster console and reconfigure it to combine the games :-)
Below are the games that you'll get:
4 STARTER GAMES:
01. Rabbit River
02. Chicken Coop
03. Shape Shop
04. Dragon Kingdom

9 MINI PLAYABLE DEMO GAMES
05. Wolverine
06. Princess & the Frog
07. Disney Fairies
08. Number Raiders
09. Letterpillar
10. Ni Hao Kai Lan
11. Disney UP
12. Star Wars
13. Toy Story 3

Broken Leap Frog Leapster Learning Game System

I purchased a Leapfrog Leapster in end of June sales last year for my daughter's birthday in October 2008. When she first turned it on it froze but after restarting played fine for 2 hrs then died and refused to work again. Fortunately I had kept my receipt (Target) but was still worried about it having been 4 months prior. They ended up giving me a store credit as they no more in stock at that store and I picked one up from another Target without having to pay the difference between my original sale price. I know you don't have the receipt but you could contact the place of purchase and ask them even if they are able to send off for repairs or put you in contact with the right people. Hope it helps a little ...
