That should be the serial key of that Windows sticker on the back of your laptop. I think they may have even changed the name of it from "serial key" to "recovery key".

SOURCE: IdeaPad S10e Netbook: CANT OPEN LENOVO ONE KEY RECOVERY UPON START...

Make sure you did it correctly. Computer should be OFF when doing the one key recovery. Turn off the computer then press the small button right beside the power button. Your computer should automatically turned on and you will go straight to one key recovery software. If this will not happen, then the one key recovery is destroyed. We need to re-image your Harddrive to have that one key recovery software back to you computer. You may call Lenovo technical support department for further assistance on how you are going to send your laptop to our depot department.

SOURCE: i removed service partition during

This is true. The recovery partition would have recovered the original configuration only. Since you installed Win7, you don't need the partition anyway.

I want to go back to factory reset on my lenovo Laptop. Its a E550 thinkpad with windows 7 enterprise. I want it completely wiped out ....Like it was when Ibought it

did you read the manual first the chapter called RECOVERY? here lets read that together now,,, (answered here vast times now) the book is first then the pages. if the PC has not been SLAMMED (with wrong OS) the recovery works if the HDD is still good. ok? and search for E550 and find this. and Chapter 9

I must guess 1st that you have no recovery disks. so only have 1 recourse. the magic recovery key using the recovery parititon. the F11 key, power on and hammer F1 from dead cold turned off, this the F11 key may only work in w8.1 or w10. I think (reading the book is not very clear here) but it implies w7 had Norton Image on it. it means day one you image your PC, then today recover. so if you didnt do that step in the manual then there is no recovery image now. there you go. I guess the recovery partition magic F11 only happened w8 and newer PC. here is your support page, this is all there is at lenovo, we are not them,

if the Lenovo recovery fails, buy windows 10 from MS and install it.

One key recovery not working for lenovo s10-3t

Welcome to Fixya

The one key recovery partition might be damaged or infected by a virus. Reason why it is not working already. Only lenovo depot repair can put the one key restoration back to your computer. You need to send in the computer to lenovo for repair.

Thank you for using Fixya!

My Lenevo shows a screen that says a file is missing or corrupt and asks for startup disc to boot. I tried the one touch key recovery, but it was unsuccessful. Any ideas on how to get a startup recovery...

Hi sroger1,

If the OKR or One Key Recovey failed your option is to use a Recovery Disk of your Laptop you can request a Recovery Disk by calling Lenovo Hotline. It will be shipped to a US, Australia and New Zeland address. If you purchase your machine from a different country you need to ask the seller for a copy of the recovery disk.

Lenovo Tech Support Hotline: 1877-453-6686 or 1877-4LENOVO

Thanks for using Fixya.

My lenovo R60 laptop is hanging. i wish to load it to factory state. The OS was preinstalled in the laptop. How to initiate the recovery option.

Hi,
All Lenovo laptops has a ONE Key Recovery button that you can press anytime to restore the factory setting.
First you need to turn off the computer > next is look for the small button that has an arrow pointing to the left. and it will prompt you for the One Key Recovery environment.
Cheers!!
