When I turn my RCA on it reads "fat error! plz connects ums device format hdd". It was only using about 3 GB of the 6 GB the device has. I've tried to reset my device by holding the on/off button for ten seconds. Nothing I've tried has worked. Does anyone know how to fix it? I also have the same problem. I think it happened when I unpluged the device before I was supposed to. Now my computer isn't even reading that it is plugged in. All of the reformatting files that I have found online are not compatible with my computer (Vista go figure). Anyone suggest anything?I also have the same problem. ok kathlessk
do one thing
go throught disk management and locate your mp3 digital player.
try to format it fat file system
it must work after this
ok...
u might have to reformat it because mine did the same thing and sombody told me how to reformat it all u do is plug ur mp3 into ur computer with ur usb cord then go to a folder called 'my computer' then there should ba an icon that looks somthing like an mp3 and if u dont see it at first give it a few minuets then when it dose show up it should have the name of what ur mp3. RIGHT CLICK on the icon then click on FORMAT and it should reformat it.It might not work though oh and if the name of ur mp3 isent there but the icon is and were the name of ur mp3 should be it will say something like MTP device like it did 2 me when i tried to reformat mine.If that dont work u could try to reset it by holding the power button for 10 secends. Those might not cause neither 1 did 4me.good luck!!
This may sound stupid but, it worked. I dropped it from about two feet onto our kitchen floor and it turned on. I am sorry if it makes it worse... but what do you have to lose
use the user maunal so you know what I'm talking about. I got the FAT error! Plz.. and I could still get the icons. This is how I fixed it. Go to settings and go to advanced press play once only. Plug into computer and it wil recognize it as a flash drive. Completely Format the drive then unplug the player from computer. It will switch back to previous setting automatically. If you need to update drivers and firmware use the auto updater from http://www.voxxsupport.com/images/downloads/autoupdater.exe
