SOURCE: Problem with JVC stereo shelf system

It could be many things but if you put the disc in and you can hear the noise it makes while its scanning the disc then its probably the laser is mis-aligned. If you cannot hear any noise at all and it comes up with error after a while then it could be the entire laser unit needs replacing. Good luck.

SOURCE: i have a JVC MX-GT80

It looks like you've either blown the speakers of the amplifier itself. What were you doing when you got the pop and the sound stopped? (Playing CD or from External Source and at what volume level?)

If there is no sound at all from the speakers, not even a crackle or buzz then it's more than likely you've blown the amplifier.

You could narrow the fault by trying these speakers on another unit or another set of speakers on this unit.

If you require further assistance then please ask.

SOURCE: I have an old JVC

Hello
There are two possibilies for this faut. The first one is related with its Laser Pickup Unit, and the second one is related to its loading mechanism. If loading mechanism did not load disc properly to to the holding disc drive motor, disc wont play, and will be ejected as it enters into the system. i don't know, how old your system is, and how much it used so far. Anyway try first by inserting a head cleaning disc into the tray and play it for two of more time. if this does not help you try replacing the loading belt. You have to open your system to do this work. Loading belt can be located at the loading mechanism, fastened with its loading gear and loading motor. If this also does not help you, there is no other way than replacing the laser Picup Unit with same type and number. To repalce either belt or laser pickup unit, you have to open and disassemble the mechanism itsef to do the work. If you are not aware in electronics, and not so experienced in doing this type of work, get help from an other who knows these well. Most of the [90%] of components used in this section are made of high density plastic, and can be damged easly. If any wheel in loading gerar mechanis has broken teeth with it, also will poise this probelm. So it also should be checked.
Anyway you have to open and disassemble the mechanism as a whole. OK

Where is the mute button located on the JVC MX J900 and how to access the fuses?

There is no mute button on the control panel. There is a mute button on the remote control, located just above the + button. See page10 of the manual.

The fuses are located inside the power supply.

Cd inserted in cd player no disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, overtime the laser becomes weak until it will no longer read the disc, it is far cheaper to replace the stereo than have the old unit repaired.

No sound coming out of speakers

Check the speakers wires on the back to make sure there are no shorts, if okay! the problem lies with the audio output ic in the stereo and will require replacement.
