The freezer alarm won't go off.

I have an Intelligent Freezer 32 - I can't find the serial number - and I'm having a problem with the alarm. We didn't realise we left the freezer open last night and now it won't go off! Does anybody know how to fix it? I've tried touching the alarm button but it doesn't work.

Possibly a problem with one of the components in the automatic defrost system in the freezer then.. this is the only reason why the alarm would keep sounding. Perhaps some of the moisture from the defrost has gotten in and damaged the electricals somehow. It might be worth it to store your freezer contents elsewhere and completely defrost the freezer and then heat the inside cabinet up with a hair dryer or something similar. This will dry out the cabinet and the electrical components. Once the freezer has warmed up let it stand for as long as possible with the doors open so that it reaches room temperature and then close the doors and switch back on. If this doesn't work you probably need a service engineer visit.

SOURCE: The alarm keeps going off. Food is frozen fine just alarm

That alarm is there for a reason. Grab your owner's manual and see the different things it can mean. If the gas is getting low, that could be it, and you'll want to solve it as early as you can.

Sometimes a power surge or brown out can make that alarm go off. Try unplugging it for 5 minutes.

SOURCE: Freezer alarm stuck on - can't reset

Hi: Does the freezer have a battery backup for the electronics? A 9v. battery in the grill down below. You won't have to remove the grill but pull a small rectangular panel to expose the battery. High end Kenmore freezers have a battery to back up the alarm. The six you see is actually supposed to be a "b" for battery most likely. L.E.D.'s are tough to tell the difference. Buy an new battery and all will be well. I hope this helps, Jeff

SOURCE: whirlpool upright freezer making buzzing noise and not working

I had a similar problem yesterday. I woke up and the freezer was not working anymore. It would make a buzzing noise and then it would click and shut off. I looked online for some possible solutions. Here is what I did:
I unplugged the fridge. I pulled it out and took off the cardboard backing. I used an air compressor to blow out all of the dust and dirt that had accumulated on the condenser coils. A shop-vac just wasn't powerful enough to pull out all of the dust/dirt. After that, I plugged it back in....and the same thing was happening. It would buzz, and then it would click off. I figured out that the "click" was coming from a starter relay (a small plastic piece attached to the big black compressor). I detached the plug from the relay and then detached the relay from the compressor. The relay was burned out. It turns out this is a common problem with the relay. I replaced the relay for $50 (from an appliance parts store) and put the whole thing back together in about 10 minutes.
I plugged the fridge back in and the compressor started, and now the freezer works better than other. I saved about $400 doing it myself, all in about one hour. And better yet, my wife was very impressed. Not bad for a doctor.

How do I disconnect the temperature alarm to my Kenmore freezer model number ************0

a number that long looks like a serial number rather than the Model Number. I doubt the temperature alarm can be disconnected. You _may_ be able to remove the sounder, but don't forget, it is provided for your safety and stop all your food spoiling unannounced. If the alarm keeps going of, it is for a reason and needs fixing.

If we set the freezer to cut off at -10 next day it might cut off at -32 or it might just continue to run the compressor

definately sounds like a control problem. I'd start in that area first. Let me know what I can do for you. Just be sure to include the model and serial numbers and we will give it our best shot.

MY FREEZER5 ALARM GOES OFF BUT THE FREEZER IS RUNN[NG AND THE TEMP IS 32 o

Fault in the controller board as it must be tripping off the alarm without the sensor giving the signal.
You will need to check the conttroller board for sorting out , other wise just disconnect the alarm as the freezer working and the thermostat is controlling the temperature correctly

Yellow power light keeps blinking on upright freezer even after replacing 9V battery and temperature is good.Have waited about 16 hours for freezer to stabilize. Problem?

If its the power light, and not a temperature alarm light, it may only indicate that there was a power loss, perhaps you had a brown out or power surge. you say the temps are good, any chance you have ice cream or bread in freezer? if its above 10° F they will be first to get soft, rather than firm. If I had the model # as it is on the model number tag, the only tag usually on the inside or possible on the outside, of the unit, that will have the model and serial number both listed.
