No. But the battery may be dead. Plug in the charger and then try to turn it on.

My son's tablet is less than 4 months old and it keeps shutting off even when fully charged. It is a 9 inch nextbook and was purchased at Walmart.

Hold the volume UP botton down when it is OFF, then while holding that button down press and hold the power on button and keep both pressed for about 10 seconds. Then release.

After fully charged battery power lasted about 20 minutes.

Since it's brand new, return it. You didn't say what type of tablet it is, but they should last for many hours on a charge.

How do I fix my tablet that won't fully charge?

Your tablet may need its battery calibrating. To do this run your tablet until it turns itself off, this will ensure that there is no charge left in the battery. Then leave it on charge until the battery is full. Normal battery use on modern devices like tablets and phones should be between 25-75%, with a calibration once every 3-6 months to ensure a good battery lifespan. If this solution does not work you may need to replace the battery.

Just purchased Ematic EDAN XL. I let battery partially charge and continue to have connected to wall electrical outlet. The touchscreen is not responding. I have reset it and it continues to sit until it...

Try cleaning the touch-screen with a tissue or touch-screen cleaning paper, then wash your hands and use a skin moisturizer on your fingertips. If it still doesn't work, something's wrong with the unit. The touch-screen should work down to the discharge limit of the battery.

Note: when you buy a new lithium battery or device that uses one, it is a good idea to charge it completely before using. Some types of battery charge controllers use this first cycle to calibrate battery parameters so you get optimum performance from the battery.

I have just purchased a 'chimp' 9" android tablet when ive been using the internet but i cannot seem to close any of the tabs ive opened - ive tried the - back space and of course the'x' in the right hand...

Nothing, the X in the right hand corner should close the tab.

Assuming the battery is fully charged.

Try Settings / Backup & Reset / Factory Reset
