SOURCE: 2004 Kia Sedona wont start but i can hear starter.

if the starter is revving very slowly it is the battery, charge battery. if not, It can be three things happing. 1 no spark 2 no fuel 3 no crank signal or the car computer is bad- you will need to unplug one of the spark wires and remove the spark plug and put the spark plug in the spark plug wire boot, and touch the spark plug on any metal on the car and have some start the car. donot touch the spark plug itself and see if there is a spark. if spark is bright, then it is not spark plug and wires but if no or spark is not bright, check the spark plug wires by applying a little bit of water on the spark plug wire and take a 12v test light, connect the clap to ground and and have some one to crank the vehicle, touch allover the spark plug wires with the tip of the test light, if you see spark, replace the wires and change the plugs.. they are not good. if spark is present, check for fuel by removing any one of the spark plugs and see if it is wet. if wet fuel pump is ok but if not go look for the fuel pump fuse and relay. is fuse blown, replace, check the relay resistor with a volt meter. it should be around 40 to 80 ohm. if everything is good from this point check the fuel pump itself by disconnecting the connector to the pump and apply 12v and ground using jumper wires or some wires to the fuel pump if you donot hear the pump, replace pump. if you, the crank signal or computer may be the problem

SOURCE: 1999 Kia Sportage: Issue with car starting

You may need a starter. My 99 Kia would get me places and would refuse to start. Someone hit the starter with a wrench and it started right up. I had to hit the starter to get my Kia to start until I replaced it.
Hope this helps.

2004 kia sedona won't start

yea it sounds like your starter the trick is to beat your starter a couple of times get a broom handle or something like a stick and hit your start a couple of times if it starts right up then your starter is gone and you have to get a new one beacuse the second you turn the car off its off for good till you get the new starter

Won't start battery is ok.

REmove the starter for checking . IT may require a new solenoid or you may have a dead bar in the commutator which will require a new starter.. This is evidenced by sometimes you can start easy and other time the solenoid clicks every time you turn the key and then suddenly starts. IT comes from the armature stopping with the daed bar under a brush and when it turns just enough to touch another bar away it goes

My 2003 Kia Sedona won't start. The Alternator and battery have been recently replaced. The interior lights come on. It won't jump start. Any ideas?

Alternator doesn't have anything to do with starting the car, it supplies power to the system once the engine runs. Does your starter crank the engine? Do you get spark? Is fuel pressure correct?

Turn key car doesn't start and sounds like the starter is just spinning

Sounds like you have a dead battery. Better look for a jump or call a towing company. Do you need a phone number to call?

My 2005 Kia Sedona won't start - I don't think it's the battery.

If the battery is low on charge (but not dead) then the sound should be a fast clicking of the voltage regulator. In this case no power is sent to the starter so the car engine will not turn over. All you hear is the fast click.
You mention a high-pitched quiet buzz sound. All I can think of is the electric fuel pump but that is in the fuel tank. There can be be a whine/buzz when starting the car because the fuel pump needs to pressure up the system. However, if the battery/starter are good then the engine would turn over, but with no fuel...it would not start if the fuel pump is bad.
If the car is a manual...you might try putting it in gear and rocking the car a bit to see if the starter somehow is jammed

2005 sedona won't start all of a sudden. Doesn't make a sound except for a tiny whirring sound like the feul injectors. Replaced starter...still won't start. checked all fuses...they are good....

you could just have dead cell in the battery which isn't getting enough amps to the starter,, have the battery LOAD checked,, that will tell you if the battery is actually good, just because it registers 12 volts isn't necessarily an indication that the required amps are present.

My 2003 KiA sedona, acts like the battary wants to die and then suddenly it starts, has been doing this for 3 days.

1st: Battery needs to be checked (no weak or dead cells) then fully charged.
2nd: If battery is good and fully charged, the problem could be excessive amp draw from the starter, a starter draw test would determine if the starter is drawing too much battery power.

Sometimes when i turn the key it just clicks and nothing happens then it will start kia sedona

Sounds like a dead spot in the starter. If it gets to the point it don't want to start then tap on starter body with a small hammer. If it starts replace starter.
