Most dometic refrigerator have a button you need to push when you shift the mode switch to gas. This button holds the gas valve open until the thermopile generates enough power to hold the valve open. So on most shift the mode switch to gas, hold the button until the flashing light goes out. The flashing light indicates the gas valve is energized and the unit has shifted to gas mode. Depending on when the unit was last used it may take up to 5 minutes for the gas supply to purge the gas lines to the refrigerator. So be patient.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: Dometic RM2652 will not run on electricity only Propane
Most likely your heating element burned out or else the circuit board is bad. To test the heating element unplug it from the circuit board (j6 and j7 usually gold colored) take the two heating element wires and using an ohm meter make sure there is no resistance between them, if there is resistance the heating element is bad, Or can just put a plug onto the heating element and plug it into a 110 wall outlet and see if it gets hot. If it is not the heating element it is most likely the main circuit board. (between 1993-1996 dometic used a yellow epoxy filled circuit board that went out pretty quickly) if you have the yellow filled circuit board rather than the green one it is most likly the circuit board
SOURCE: Refrig does not work on elec
there is a small fuse on some models and check you heater for a short
SOURCE: will not cool on electricity
Hi there. There are actually a few causes of your problem but I would begin by checking the fuse. here is the Dometic troubleshooting manual for your model. It should help.

SOURCE: Our Dometic RM2193 cools on gas but does not work on electric
It could be as simple as a blown fuse at the fridge. Also check to make sure you have turned on the electric switch that allows the fridge to run on AC. Note, you can only operate the fridge on EITHER gas OR electric, but not both sources at the same time, thus, you have to turn off the gas switch before you can run on electric.
When this unit is running on electricity, it has to have the thermostat set for it to run.
Here's a link to the Dometic manual for your model.

Just follow the steps for running on electric and you should be OK.
Hope this helps.
SOURCE: I have a Dometic rm2652 refrigerator the door hinge broke
the hinge is not plastic, only the insert sleeve that goes into the hole atop the door is plastic. If the actual hinge (metal arm) is broke, then you need to order a new part (not difficult if frig is 20 years or less). If you cannot find the part, go to a metal shop and show them the broken part, they usually can repair it or remake a new piece.
If the hole in the door went bad (that is: if the hole tore open and cannot hold the hinge pin) you need to have a metal repair brace added to the door. This will involve the metal shop or a good mechanic that can come to you and do the neccessary repair at the house; otherwise you need to bring the door to the metal shop. macgivor
