When you installed the throttle it was not square with handle bars it is has less travel area than it should. so you are not getting the full range Scooter Doctor App

Sounds like one of them has incorrect values. You need to check the resistance marked on the original speed and throttle pots, with the new ones. Generally a throttle pot is 5Kohms and 20 or 200 ohms for the speed pot.

The 'Throttle Pot' is only a $2 control pot available from most online and local hobby stores. Remove the plastic cover, unbolt the throttle bar and remove the control. Check the value and order one. Remove the wires and resolder the three wires to the new pot. Reassemble and job done.

Diagnosing code alarm flashes 7 times 24 volts rascal 600 unit.

Rascal 600, normally the 7 flashes is related to the Wigwag (throttle pot ) not being dead centre when you turn it on, if it happens while going along i would first check the wiring from this pot if all okay then the pot itself must be worn.

Look at the speed pot (on the top of the tiller ) as well making sure the connections are okay as this can also cause the 7 flashes.,

After replacing battery scooter will move forward but will move in reverse with using lever.

Sounds like your throttle has a problem, check the wiring to the throttle. The throttle maybe bad have it ohm tested, to see if it linear when you squeeze the lever. When checking the throttle it must be disconnected from the system to properly check it, unless it is like a Rascal that you can disconnect by pulling tiller harness. normally a 5k ohm pot on the throttle, so check from middle post to outside post it should be half of the overall resistance for a 5k it should be around 2.5k .

I have a Rascal 200..was working fine..now after you go forward and let go of the throttle. ..it goes in reverse itself. .is there a throttle adjustment?

I had a similar problem on my Pride Legend scooter, it would
creep back in reverse if you let go of the throttle. The FWD/REV spring tensioned throttle pot inside was "off center"causing it to activate in reverse when it should have stayed put with the electric brake energized.
I had to replace the throttle pot assembly. Not sure if yours
is similar, but I would suspect it might be.

Rascal scooter

Could be the Throttle Pot or Speed Pot. The levers will change the resistance of the throttle pot. The speed pot feeds the throttle pot.
Move the speed pot while pushing the lever forward. If it works could be the speed pot has a dead spot on it. Also check wires loose and a mechanical issue with the throttle pot and the springs.

Scooter has very little power just replaced both batteries what else do i check

check the spped control pot and the throttle pot. You will need a ohm meter to check both pots Usually replacing the speed pot will help but it could be both speed and throttle pot Hope this helps

My scooter is too slow, the battery charges, but only drives at a very slow speed. While going backwards drives at a good speed. Can you tell what to do??Many thanks Diana Donald

Hi dianaidonald

I have owned my own business for 3 years and have been working on scooters and powerchairs for 15 years. I know exactly what the problem is. Your problem is the throttle pot or somtime called the engager. or the speed pot.
1.. Replace the throttle pot and or (speed pot most likely the problem).

Good Luck

I have a 245 Rascal Scooter. I need to know if I can lower the seat?

most rascal 235 and 245 scooters come equiped with power seat height control. you turn the key to the left and then the throttle lever becomes the seat height controller. the seat motor is ditectly uuder front of seat post. if it will not run follow wires to see that they are plugged up good.
