I have a bootable USB made with my Windows Install disk, and I'm trying to do a clean install of Windows on the Vizio All-in-one PC I just bought(I bought it off of a person I met online, and they didn't wipe it like they said they would). I'm having a problem getting into the boot menu, or even the BIOS menu. When the computer starts up, there is no F8 BIOS/F12 Boot Menu prompt. It goes straight to the "Starting Windows" sceen. Any Help?
Press f7 key ,select usb storage from start up menu and press enter ,follow steps, hope this helps :)
Testimonial: "I did this, and selected the USB storage. When I pressed enter on the USB, the computer started up as normal and went to the sign in screen. Any more advise?"
Ok look for on the screen as it boots hit the pause button depending on manufacture its either f1 f2 or delete to enter set up or f12 for boot menu, f8 is windows commands normal safe mode etc. I would go into cmos, and go to boot and make sure CD-ROM is priority should read as follows cd floppy hard drive in that order. what this does is give the first device In this case gives cd priority to boot first load in windows cd and install away... by the way please don not change any other setting in cmos please!!!!!!! then exit and save the cd will boot up and say press any key to boot form cd... hope this helps. God bless
This would work, if i were using a CD to install. I am however using a bootable USB to install.
OK Paul remember you must get into cmos and make sure usb bootable is on. you must find the key and hit once when the machine turn on and u see the first bit of info on the screen. hit this key to enter SETUP this is the cmos I was telling u about. Its either
F1 F2 Or Delete Button. Once in cmos look for boot config and make sure you can boot from USB, It will sat something like boot from usb make sure nothing else is in like a cd. Your computer keeps seeing only the hard drive. my email is [email protected] mess me and maybe you can call me and ill walk u thur its so simple a few keys.. Hope this helps my friend God Bless :)

After figuring out how to get to the boot menu and selecting the USB storage, the computer starts as if normal and goes sign in screen.
Doing the same thing except I was replacing a corrupt drive and it's going into a REALLY long recovery (that inevitably fails, always) every time I reboot. So, which key was it that 1.) takes you into cmos/bios, and 2.) which key took you to the boot options screen? I can't sit here and experiment as the recovery attempt takes overnight. Any help would be greatly appreciated Paul, thanks in advance!
