Here are a few possible problems with your monitor 1, Backlight gone bad 2. Power Supply gone bad 3. Wrong display resolution Given that your monitor is only 14 months old, I would lean toward either a bad capacitor in the power supply or the screen resolution needs to be changed (boot up in safe mode and change the resolution) The power supply problem would require some dis-assembly and working with high voltage.Not for the faint of heart..
First check display (Monitor LCD, Cables ect) and make sure that they are working. Next check RAM and replace them if possible. Most of the times display issue with Asus is because of RAM. let me know the out come
