Have you setup mail server on copier as for desktop did you setup a share folder on computer. Have you gone in create a user with email info and scan folder path and Both might need to be authentication . Go to ricoh-usa.com/download and in search area enter model and click on manuals will explain setup for this.

SOURCE: Ricoh Aficio 1075 - SMTP error message

To use the scan to email function on your copier you need some settings from your internet provider (email setting specifically). Go into Outlook options and get your SMTP server, user name and password.

On your copier you need to change under User tools, system setting and file transfer and put these settings in. As long as your machine is set up for scan to folder thats all you should need.

SOURCE: What is SC305 Error Message - Ricoh 1232C On

I worked on this same code just the other day for a customer. This SC305 code means the charge corona cleaner is not working properly. The charge corona is located behind the large front door, towards the bottom and just left of center. It has a small thumb screw and a white cord with an end on it like a telephone cord. You can try removing the assembly and blow it out carefully with canned air. Be careful about the very thin hairlike wire in the shell. You can also remove the end of the unit and check that the motor is not gummed up. If it is just put a little light oil on it. Just cycle the power off then on again to reset and try.
Usually once they get repositioned properly they will work fine. Sometimes I have replaced the unit with one from a parts machine.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.

SOURCE: Error 36851: No response from scanner" ricoh

Dear kishorkamble,

We fixed this error, which happened in another model (Aficio MP-5500), by configuring two options:
1. Activating SNMP protocol. Menu Configuration -> Network -> IPv4
2. Activating RSH/RCP protocol. Menu Configuration -> Network -> SNMP

I hope it may be useful.

Yours sincerely,

Bruno Coutinho

Ricoh mp7001 stopped emailing but still can scan to server. ??

You're asking if this is possible? Yes, it is possible. They are two different things. To scan to email use the SMTP server. To scan to server only need the folder path and authentication

Scan to email gives server response error in home network. SMTP server tried by IP address and DNS name. Port 25 Authorisation POP for SMTP. The other authorisation types give a network error straight...

I've just discovered that Ricoh's built in software only works if your SMTP server sends out without picking up password or authentication.
Having same issue and it worked fine when it was behind corporate firewall with the same connection settings (IP address) as the SMTP server.
Once I changed web hosting - it won't recognize the SMTP server or any authentication methods. According to IKON (Ricoh support for the USA) - your SMTP server has to have "relay exception"

MY EMAIL ACCOUNT RECEIVES EMAIL, BUT I CANNOT SEND EMAILS. WHEN I ATTEMPT TO SEND, I GET THIS ERROR MESSAGE: ----The server does not support a SSL connection. Account: 'Microsoft Mail Server', Server:...

Hi,
It seems that there is some problem with your settings. Goto account settings-> select the email account -> advanced settings of Outgoing server tab. Removing the check mark present near something like "SSL connection". save it and try again. Also verify other ports and outgoing server address by checking with your email provider.
i hope this is helpful to you

Ricoh 1515MF Scanning

Easier said than done...you'll probably need a tech for this one.
First..to scan to folder you require a software called "scanrouter Lite" from Ricoh, which is actually kind of hard to get a hold of these days, since it's nnot supported anymore, and then the configuration is not easy , because it is proprietary...meaning only Ricoh uses it, and it is almost impossible to configure for anyone else that has not used it.
There is however Scan to email, and for this you can open a web browser, and type it's Ip address (if you have it connected via tcp/ip port), enter "admin mode"...user name= "admin", password = "password"...then enter all network settings...IP, DNS, POP,SMTP, etc. then in "address book" enter your destination settings.
This is not a configuration that is easy for a novice either, and it is also not compatible with an email server that uses authentication for outgoing mail.
I may not have helped, b ut I hope I clarified.

Yes.
Go to your desktop. Create a folder named "scans" on the desktop, and share it. Give the "everyone" group full access, or give users permission to modify files. Depending in how its set up.

On the copier, since you already have Email setup, your dns servers will be entered. Go to:

user tools, system settings, admin tools, address book management. Either select a user, or new program. Fill in user name ect. Select folder. It will ask for a path. Enter the path using the following template"

\\computername\scans. You should be able to test it out. If it is successful, then it will prompt you to login. This is your local login for the computer with the scans folder, The password is its password. Press ok to save.

Select scanner, scan document to the user that you set up. If the memory goes from 100%, to 99%, to 100% quickly, it worked.

You can use variations of this on a server too. If its a domain server, assigned to a group, the user name and password are what the user uses to access the active directory.
