Couple of things to look at
1 check the grating blade. Maybe clogged therefore need cleaning or need replacing due to bluntness
2 motor may be slipping true to overload. Place fruit in a little at a time
hope this helps
Yes the blade is hitting it when the juicer vibrates severely. I have an Acme, 21 years old, and found very difficult to control vibration especially with a new shredder blade. If you are handy this is what to do. Order a new cover from omega, cover design has changed so you will need the plunger also. This may sound incorrect, but you will have to use a small file to file down the cutting burrs on the blade a fraction of an inch. Then with the juicer fully assembled, unlock the set screw on the center of the bottom and turn it clockwise until the chute contacts the blade then back it off a half turn. Now the chute to blade gap is set correctly. In filing down the burrs you make the blade a little duller but you also narrow the gap and feed the produce through more slowly and evenly. This comes from 21 years of using this machine. With a new blade I could not control the vibration no matter how I fed the thing. If this sounds a bit too much get rid of the Omega and try the pulp ejecting type. The Miracle MJ1000 is a nice little juicer for about $130.
open the blade? you mean get it out for cleaning? just pop it out by putting a knife or back of a spoon under it and gently pry it up in a few places. works like a charm, been doing it for 5 yrs
Hi,my name is patricia ,and i found a solution, first the black button .the black vise grip put it in the blade while the blade is still in turn the black vise grip to the left while still in the blade keep turning to the left and the blade will come off of the black button.the black button do not come off or up.When you put food in but smaller pieces in and have all your pieces near you so you can continue to drop in in the processer while running it and can slowly put the long tube in to keep food from splashing do it slowly .hope that help
Take off the top part of the juicer that has the chute. You will see the blade and basket. The blade appears to be attached to the basket with three small screws but is actually screwed onto the basket by a large screw that protrudes out of the basket underneath the blade. So the trick is to unscrew the blade, turning it to the left by using maybe a small screwdriver that you will have to put into one of the two small holes that are on the blade surface and pushing the blade to the left. This should loosen the blade and then you can just unscrew the blade off the basket. Once you get that blade off, the rest of the juicer comes apart. The newer models come with a little tool with a couple of arms that go down into those holes and loosen the top. Good luck.
After about a half hour I finally figured it out. I'll go through all the steps.
1. Remove pusher from chute.
2. Pull the locking bar down over the spout.
3. Remove lid.
4. This part is tricky. Stick the orange crescent tool into the blade holes and while holding the filter basket steady with one hand, turn the blade couterclockwise while pulling up.You do have put a little muscle into it. And remember, if you don't hold the filter steady, the whole damn thing just spins.
5. Remove the receptacle.
Good juicer, but it seems unnecessarily complicated.
