My dryer has been difficult to start lately especially if stopped mid cycle. The lights are all on but it won't start up. Today I only used it 2 times and it was very difficult to start after pressing many buttons plugging it in & unplugging it and pressing more buttons it came on. My dryer is not that old, it is still drying the clothes well. Any ideas?

You may be experiencing "Heat Retention" by stopping your dryer mid-cycle, which you should NOT ever have to do! If you have a minor vent restriction or if you open the dryer mid-cycle when the heat is on, this will cause a disruption in the airflow and rising temperatures can keep the dryer from restarting until it has been cooled long enough.
Check your vent all the way to the outside for restrictions/obstructions every 6 months. Clean your lint filter after each load and DO NOT stop the dryer mid-cycle!
Note: Stopping the dryer mid-cycle can also cause severe burns and even melt polyester fibers.

There is something causing the drive motor to bog down. This means the fan isnt spinning fast enough and the whole unit is overheating. Check for anything around the edges of the drum, coins keys etc. The squeal is the belt from the drum being stuck. See how hard it is to turn by hand.

My washer has been stopping mid-cycle like the lid was opened lately. I have been able to open and close the lid to "jar" it into finishing the cycle(rinsing) until now. It has just stopped and...

The lid switch will need a slight adjustment to properly activate, or you could bend the raised bump on the back of the lid out a bit so it activates the switch better.

The light is on on the inside of the dryer but it will not start. it stopped suddenly in mid-cycle

Remove the rear panel and check the thermal fuse located on the blower vent for continuity. It is 1 and 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide and white in color. If no continuity on the fuse, replace it.

if the machine is completly dead an not doing anything locate your fuse panel ,check your fuses for the dryer ,if you can find wich one is it reset the breakers again you probably popped one of the 2 lines since you need 2 for a 220v.
