If your DVD player is not playing with sound or picture and not jumping, there could be a few possible causes:
The connections between the DVD player and the TV or audio system may be loose or damaged. Check the connections and make sure that they are secure and in good condition.
The DVD may be dirty or scratched. Clean the DVD with a soft, dry cloth and check for any scratches or damage. A dirty or scratched DVD may not play properly.
The laser lens of the DVD player may be dirty. The laser lens reads the data on the DVD and if it is dirty, it may not be able to read the data correctly, causing the sound and picture to not play properly. You can try cleaning the lens with a lens cleaning disc or by using a soft, dry cloth.
The DVD player's firmware may be outdated. Firmware is the software that runs the DVD player and if it is outdated, it may not be able to play newer DVDs or may have other issues. Check the manufacturer's website for any firmware updates and instructions on how to install them.
The DVD player may be malfunctioning. If none of the above solutions work, the DVD player may be malfunctioning and may need to be repaired or replaced.
Video and sound are two different formats. Not all players support all sound and video. You may have a player that supports the sound portion of your disk but not the video.
1.check your video cable between DVD and TV.
2.in back of dvd one yellow socket only for video out others for some other purpose.
3.open tray conditon .-go to system menu on Remote -go to general set up page-video set up -and switch of .progressive -in OFF-mode.
then try it for video play back
4 if not ok replace the video decoder ic.
You need to update the dvd softwear. Check the default settings for playback of media,if it is set to windows media it won't work if you hav'nt installed the correct updates. Choose the Toshiba dvd player as the default player and it should work. If you prefer windows media then you can get the updated codecs from ' free-codecs.com ' Easier still, try uninstalling your windows media player and installing windows media 11, this will usually resolve the problem.
try making sure that the video cord is plugged in to the video out port on the dvd player and that the other side of the video cord is plugged in to the video in port on the tv
Have you checked the unit on another input or another set to eleminate the video input? also try the video cable. If theres sound and no video and you tryed then the video output amp in the player has a problem and the only way to fix this would be with a schematic and a scope to trace out the video signal. Good luck
