Does it do it on all connections IE: DVD, Cabe, VCR? if it does than most likely a bad digital board in the TV. If only on one connection you see this then suspect intermittent connections to that device or a bad cable.

Thats Samsung for you. They are designed to last just right outside the warranty then fail. Typically the LCD panels are bad, and they are the most expensive part on that Korean unit.

Yes, you do need to get the LCD repair before the warranty expires. Call the manufacturers to find an authorized service center near you.
