When I turn on my compressor ec 119sa the air compressor will only go up to approx. 50 and it looses air. what is the problem
This problem is usually caused by reed valves or blown gasket between head and valve plate. Easy to check. After the compressor reaches 45 to 50 psi, with compressor still running, remove the air filter and feel for good suction at the intake port. If the air seems to be blowing out of the intake, then valves are bad. If you feel good suction at the intake, then air is leaking from the discharge tubing or other fittings. Good luck
SOURCE: air compressor not building pressure
YOU MAY HAVE BROKEN OR CRACKED A FEED LINE REMOVE THE COVER LET IT RUN ,CHECK FOR LEAKS
SOURCE: Hitachi EC 12 Air Compressor does not keep pressure
to repair this problem (a) the pressure switch is not working,(b) check valve or non return valve sticking(stripe down repair and refit)
SOURCE: I have a model FP209501 Air Compressor 2 Gallon,
The spray gun consumes more air volume than the compressor can deliver. You can pause painting periodically to allow the compressor to 'catch-up' or buy a larger delivered-volume compressor. The compressor that you have was intended to supply air for pneumatic nailers and staplers in an intermittent fashion. Hope this helps!

you have a bad check valve ,the little brass valve is working normal
SOURCE: I have a Clarke SHHH air 2/9 compressor
I also have a Clarke SHHH 2/9 with the same problem. I sent it off to machine mart service dept. in Nottingham who quoted £189 to replace a faulty pump. Am not going ahead with repair since replacement cost is only £250. Cost sending to Nottingham (from local machine mart) & cost of estimate & cost of return (to local machine mart) was £24 which I thought was reasonable. Very unimpressed with compressor itself wich failed after only light use.
