How do i restor my hp laptop to factory settings

HP Recovery Manager can be accessed from the Start Menu, or by pressing the F11 key as soon as you power on the laptop. Recovery Manager is used to restore back to factory settings.
Before restoring factory settings, be sure you have backed up any documents, or photos first as these will be erased in the process.

Compaq/HP: When you first turn on the laptop and see the Compaq/HP logo screen, press the F11 key (you need to do this before the Compaq/HP logo disappears).

Press F11 at system startup to get to the NEC recovery menu. From there, you can restore your factory settings. However, a "destructive" recovery will wipe the hard drive, including your personal files. Best to back those up first before performing the recovery.

Did the laptop come with a Restore CD if so insert that and restart the computer and follow the instructions.
