Take the Macbook in to a qualified Apple Support technician. It sounds like you have quite a few problems with the laptop that need to be resolved before you can actually use it properly.

If you are running OS X put the appropriate system disk in the disk drive. Boot up using the c key. Once booted go up to the file menu and go to the reset password menu and reset your password.

SOURCE: I don't know the Admin Password, and have no operating disc.

Yup there is and its called a Disc in short you need the operating system disk so you can redo the permissions without it well then of course there will not be a solution right? I mean there is not hacking into a mac at least not in my 15 years of experience of calling it legal right? Well to get a disk you can go down to the apple store pick up a nice copy of the operating system for under $50 bucks. Or go on ebay and puchase a copy for under $20 or do it the illegal way do you got someone with a pc? ok have them like search for torrects (witch i do not condone) burn it to a disk plop that disk into the cdrom tray and bingo.

I suggest you go buy the operating system.

thanks and pelase do rate.

The best way is to delete the password and set up a new one. To delete your password go to:

http://www.lazesoft.com/forgot-windows-admin-password-recovery-freeware.html and make the freeware CD on a friend's computer. Then boot your machine from this CD.

I forgot my password to log in to the admin account and i dont have the installation disc either. What another way to reset my password on a iBook G3?

This can be tricky if you are not familiar with the Terminal inside of OSX. If this does not work or you are scared to try it you will need to take this to an Apple Store or purchase another copy of OSX in order to get back into your account.
  • Reboot the computer, after you hear the chime hold down the Apple Key + S.
  • You should now see a black screen where you can enter commands.
  • Enter the following commands in quotes as I have typed them, case does matter do not type the quotes.
  1. "mount -uw /" Return Key
  2. "rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone" Return Key
  3. "shutdown -h now" Return Key
  • You should have a new admin account now. You can delete the old Admin account at this point.

How to reset the admin password for my Mac OS X 10.2.8

If you have your Install CD
Start up from a Mac OS X Install CD.
Hold the C key as the computer starts to boot from the CD.
When the installer starts, choose your language, and you'll proceed to the welcome dialog.
Choose Reset Password from the Installer menu
Select your Mac OS X hard disk volume.
Select the user name of your original administrator account.
Important: Do not select "System Administrator (root)". This is actually a reference to the root user. Do not confuse it with a normal administrator account.
Enter your new password. Click Save.
Quit the Reset Password tool, and Restart your Mac.
Once you restart your Mac, you should be able to log in with the newly changed password.
If you don't...
This should work for your version:
To reset your OS X password without an OS X CD you need to enter terminal and create a new admin account:
Reboot
Hold apple + s down after you hear the chime.
When you get text prompt enter in these terminal commands to create a brand new admin account (hitting return after each line):
mount -uw /
rm /var/db/.AppleSetupDone
shutdown -h now
After rebooting you should have a brand new admin account. When you login as the new admin you can just delete the old one.
