First try cleaning the filters. One under the water tank cap (looks like a screen) remove it, clean and replace it. The other is a Flow Indicator Filter = unscrew the Flow Indicator remove the rotor and pull out the filter. Clean it and reinstall in reverse order. If that doesn't work the call the Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691, Hope that helped.

First remove the some cover on the lfet side that is on top, then turn unit over, remove the red lock plate, has 1 screw, pull it out, then you can pull the end cap out, remove it, the cogged belt is there. If while you have the brush roll off, the pump belt can be replaced also. REmove old belt, put new belt over the bigger round part of the pump pully, feed it thru opening, then from the top, grap it and stretch it over the motor shaft. Then put the cogged belt on and reinstall the brush roll and the red lock.

SOURCE: bissell proheat 7 will not spray water or cleaner

Thanks to many others who have posted on similar problems -- water and/or solution sprays through the handheld tools, but not through the main machine.

As others have suggested, I removed the water reservoir, which exposes the 2 main water sprays mounted above the rollers. Using, pliers, I carefully slid the clips back. Gently but firmly removed the two red nozzles.

Elsewhere I have read suggestions to just do one nozzle at a time. However, I found out that if you remove both red nozzles, you can then blow through one side and it will come out the other. In my case, that dislodged a nice collection of crystal-like chunks (guessing it may be crystallized residue from the cleaning solution).

There was also a bit of blockage in one of the red nozzles, which I cleaned out. Make sure you can blow through both of them with little resistance.

Reassemble: Push red nozzles back into hoses. Using pliers, reposition sprung clip back over the red nozzle. Snap nozzles back into place. Refill tanks and power it up.

In my case, that resolved the problem of no sprays from the main machine. Sprays like new now. Hope yours does too!! g

How do i take the clear veiw window off of my bissell proheat carpet cleaner to clean it? I've removed the 2 screws on either side but it still wont come off.

There are 2 screws at the lower front of the clear panel. Remove both of these then lift up the panel carefully and make sure that the rubber gasket at the top of the panel is not lost. This may take a little force if you have not done this before. Assembly is simply the reverse of this process. I have one of these and do this every month to make sure thattheh Bissell keeps cleaning at optimal performance,

How to change the belt on a bissell powerbrush deep carpet cleaner.model 1694

Turn the machine OFF (O) and unplug from
the outlet. To check if the brush belt or
pump belt has broken, you will need a flat
head screwdriver. Insert the blade end into
the lower slot of the belt access door to
release the lower snap. If necessary, insert
the blade end into the upper slot to release
the upper snap.

Hope this helps.

Bissell carpet cleaner brushes won't turn

Make sure you have released the handle, as if you wanted to push the machine forward. If the handle is locked upright, the brushes do not spin.

If they still don't spin, you may have a broken belt. Look carefully at the base, on each side. As I face the front of mine, on the right side of the machine, a small belt goes around one brush and a small cog wheel. On the left side, a larger belt goes around both brushes. If either belt is broken, the brushes will not spin. This can happen if you let gunk build up inside the clear plastic side pieces or around or above the brushes. It's very important to constantly be cleaning your Bissell. The belts can be ordered online and replaced. See your owner's manual.

Cleaning the bissell powersteam cleaner

If you are talking about the cover over the nozzle asm, where the water is sucked uo, the are 2 screws, one on each side, take those off, you may have to pry some, but it will come off. When you put back on, at the top end, it should snap into place, then lower it and put the 2 screws back in.
