If legit software, contact MS. Or just google it just as you presented it here. There are many answers for you to check out.

What version of Reader are you using? Some newer .pdf files ure using formatting codes that older versions of Reader cannot decipher and thus fail to open. Older files will still read regardless of the version of reader. Ensure you have the most recent version of Reader and try again.

This might be a virtual drive or just a mislabled drive by VLC.

When you open VLC go Open Disk>DVD or CD button as appropriate>Manually edit the Disk Device box as appropriate.

They're partially correct. What you need to do is open Control Panel and choose Add or Remove Programs. Scroll down to Microsoft Office 2007 and select Change (NOT Remove). A window should open that gives you the option to Repair. Select that option and it should resolve your issue.

If your using Windows 7 it's a slightly different process. Open Control Panel, click Programs and Features, then select Office 2007 and select Change. Once again choose Repair and you should be good to go.

It Took Me About 40 min. to figure it out
1. install master cook 6.0
2. open sierra on c drive c:\sierra\mastercook6\program
3. delete msvcp.dll file
mastercook 6.0 will now run
there will be no cookbooks
1. goto file\open add it will list all the cookbooks
2. open each one and then everything works as normal

You can get at least part way there as follows:
Go to Start>Control Panel>Classic menu>Choose Folder Options >General Tab, choose Use windows classic folders & Open each folder in its own window. Choose apply, Go to View tab and choose behavior desired for windows. Apply. Restart.
Beyond this, you could set a hotkey to minimize open windows, but you may have to get a third party program if you want automatic resizing.

it sounds like the application that is needed to uninstall the version 8 is corrupted or missing. Try reinstalling version 8 first then uninstall it before loading version 9. If you can reinstall version 8 and it asks you if you want to repair or install, choose install to get all of the files back before uninstalling it again. Always uninstall from add/remove programs. If deleting it from program files instead of uninstalling it correctly it will cause problems.

What OS are you using? Ultimate, Premium, Basic?
Windows DVD Maker has stopped working Issue : While trying to create DVD in Windows DVD Maker in Vista, or while creating a DVD from Windows Movie Maker, which uses Windows DVD Maker, the burn process stops with error message.

Error message : " Windows DVD Maker has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. "

Cause : Windows DVD maker stops working because of incompatibility with one or more codec files which are outdated or incompatible with the particular project or the DVD Maker software itself.


Resolution :

These Codec files should be located and renamed to resolve the issue.

1. Open Start menu and type Event Viewer in the Start menu search bar. Open Event Viewer from the menu.

2. In the Event Viewer window Click on Windows Logs in the left panel

3. Click on Application Logs under Windows Logs

4. Locate error messages listed in the Central panel of the Event Viewer window and double click the error to check if this is log is related to DVD Maker.

5. Locate Fault Module name, it should be a file with extension .ax.

6. Once the file name is identified, try to locate the file in C:/Windows/System32 folder. ( Please click on Show Contents if the files are not listed Automatically ).

7. If the files are not listed in System32 folder, search for the file, with search containing system files and folders.

8. Locate the file and rename it.

9. Check if the issue persists. If the issue persists and the error message again appears, locate the new .ax file that is causing the issue from the Event Viewer, error log.

These steps will resolve the issue instantly without a restart.

Your computer might be using caching. Can you tell me how much RAM you have on your computer? If you have 2GB of RAM i would recommend disabling the caching. This slows down the system quiet a bit (since it uses miliseconds instead of nanoseconds). Your computer is as fast as the slowest component.  I would also suggest defragging the drive.
