Your lucky it lasted 1 month. The population thinks they are receiving inexpensive items from China. Instead they are cheap useless rubbish. You will find that anything from Asia costs half as much and only lasts 1 tenth of the time. DO THE MATHS PEOPLE WE ARE BEING RIPPED OFF. While Asia is getting rich.

I had the Problem, I replaced the bulb and it fixed the problem. a year ago I was not able to find this bulb under 450.00, I bought it last month from amazon for $73.00 and free shipping.
Reset the lamp hours as follows. Press the Exit button on the projector for 3 seconds to display the total used lamp time. Press the MENU button on the projector during the lamp hour message. An adjustment message will appear. Press left or right arrow to reset lamp hours or press EXIT to leave.
Take the lamp out and check for physical damage. Some lamps come defective and can shad (brake glass inside) upon warming up. The "pop" sound could be it.
firdt off, did you reset the lamp counter? did you clean the dust out of the projector? it may be overheating as well. if the lamp looks ok, you may have just blown the ballast. try projector doctor online.
If you did not purchase the OEM Sony manufactured bulb (model LMP-H200) then you likely acquired a poor quality "after market" lamp. I recently purchased a replacement lamp for my VW60. The list price is $369, I paid $269 from a reputable brick and mortal / on-line retailer.
If you paid substantially less than $269 or bought from an unknown on-line seller, your lamp is likely the problem. Note I have seen some shady on-line sellers (with "electric" in their name) sell knock of bulbs for the same price as the OEM.
Have you contacted Toshiba? They will sell you a new fan. It is possible the power supply has a problem. Bulbs usually have a 90 day warranty. Contact where you bought the bulb. Prices are dropping rapidly for new projectors. Yoiu can buy a new oen for under 500.00.
I have the exact same problem with my AE700. It a started about the same time, around 2500 hours for me. I lived with it untill I could afford a new bulb which arrived yesterday. The old bulb was still working at a 3603 hours when I installed the new one. But the new bulb didn't fix the problem for me either. I may try to take it apart this weekend and give it a good cleaning.
