My stove top and wall oven are connected to one

My stove top and wall oven are connected to one fuse. My stove blew a fuse. I want to use the oven. Is it ok to turn the fuse back on to use the oven. Is it also ok to turn the stove on and see if it is still working?

Assuming you replaced the fuse with the same size, yes, both are reasonably safe.

SOURCE: oven will not start, stove top works fine, possible lightning strike.

hi thom,

You are likely correct, you may need a new control panel, they are very sensitive to power surges. If you are handy you may be able to find one cheap online and replace it yourself, just be sure to unplug the stove or turn off the breaker before you work on it. if you have any questions on how to do that please contact me.

My GE oven works but all elements stopped working, any suggestions?

There are elements in the oven too but I will assume you are referring to the stovetop elements only.

You did not give a model so I can't research any information, but it could be that a main connection has come loose under/behind, or a safety device (fuse) has tripped.
Before working on the stove, turn off the breaker you are dealing with 240 Volts and can be very dangerous.

One thing to test, try turning the breaker off and back on again and test the cooktops, otherwise turn the breaker back off before proceeding.

Some stove have screws under the front lip (maybe covered by the oven door) that with removal, allow the top to be lifted, otherwise you will need to pull away from the wall, disconnect power and access the back for further troubleshooting.

My frigidaire gallery series oven made a popping noise while heating up dinner in oven and now the whole oven is not working

Hello jnjpelli - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes and restart the unit. If the oven does not turned on, then more than likely there seems to be a power supply issue. Also try checking the breaker and the power connections located on the back of the range. If any of these suggestions prove to be ineffective, connect with a professional to accurately pinpoint any potentially more serious issues

Are there fuses in the whirlpool flat top accubake stove that control the oven?

Yes there is a thermal fuse for the oven that if it blew all power to the oven would be cutoff, the fuse is not resettable and if it blew would need to be replaced

1984 stove, fuses located on the top of stove/ 30amp keeps blowin

It sounds like the element has a short in it. unplug the range, and take the element out and inspect if for burn marks. check the wires going to the element to make sure they have not shorted.

Bake or broil does not work

if an element itself had shorted it would not stop the other from working and you could inspect each element and see blistering as evidence.the pop you heard has to be in common with both elements but not the cook top[burners]so thats going to be the wiring in the back of range, or switching,[thermostat, clock timer or oven selector switch, depends on which model you have]you will have to pull range and remove back pannels.you will find an obivous burn't connection.too repair all new connections must be clean and tight,or will burn again.

yes the oven thermal fuse blew when the fan went off its also called a tco switch if you pull out the oven and take the top off there will be a tech sheet there that will give the location of the tco some are on top some are on back this can also happen if the oven is too tight in the cabinet not enough room around it to let the heat dissipate its a round metal disc with two wires on it
