It sounds like you have a dying power supply module, that will be the first place to look, look for caps with leaking/bulging tops, some may look OK but can have high ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance), which you will need special cap meter to check that out.

SOURCE: LG LCD TV clicking on and off no picture

check the capacitor(s) and replace the power components. Easy fix if handy with soldering electronics as you may need to replace capacitor(s), hopefully not mother board. Tv repairman should charge about $75-100.00 dollars for fix ...

My LG crtv comes up and few minutes shut down

It has very old components and is in need of repairs and some tlc.
Take it to an old fashioned TV repair shop, find an engineer who is over 50 years old and you should stand a chance of success.
You can then look forward to large electricity bills from using it.

My 55inch LG 3D smart tv is not working properly. When you turn the tv on the LG home screen comes on for a few seconds, and then the screen goes black. What is causing this

it's set to the wrong input device ? the one you currently have it pointed to has no input

also it's possible that cable plugged into current input channel has gone bad or become disconnected from it's source
Hdmi cables are unfortunately famous for this as they have no Lock device to keep them inserted into ports

most TV's nowdays shut off if not provided an input for a few minutes

I have 50" lg Plasma tv. When I start it first thing during the day the power comes on then shuts off. I have to repeat three or four times befor it comes on. I have checked the power source and the cord...

The UF capacitors on your PSB-power supply board are blown. Your tv is putting itself in fault protection mode to keep it from damaging more components internally. Soon enough the TV won't come on at and you'll be left with a blinking fault LED.

LG 50" plasma tv

call 877-543-8325 this is an LG Executive call center and they will fix this for free. I have a 50" plasma I bought january 2006 which is out of warranty by 5 months. They faxed me and the LG repair shop a 30 day warranty for my tv to cover the repair. Just tell them you heard a pop and in my case the picture is distorted. All they need is the model number and serial number and they should take care of it. No arguing needed.
