This problem sounds very sirius. Sorry, couldn't resist, but "siriusly", the song alert feature is supposed to be something you select yourself, so it locates a particular song whenever it is played on the service. Do you recall setting this?
Are you using the Alpine KCA-SC100 tuner or another?
What do you mean by "fix" the display, is it not showing it? If so- my Nissan Altima has not been displaying Sirius XM Title and Artist for months. After much searching of the internet, I finally found an answer that worked! Just be sure to write down your radio/sirius presets before you reset the radio - it'll clear them all (and the time). The answer is here- http://incodesystems.com/Troubleshoot/Cars/RadioInitialize.htm
I doesn't save the songs, only the song title information. Go to MENU and you can see there is a selection to it to show the 'memory' listing -again, it is only the channel, artist and title info to remind you the name so you can buy it. some also have the tunealert feature so that the radio beeps when your favorite is on another channel.
This may have something to do with how the ipod is reading the names of the songs. Hook your ipod up to iTunes and when the summary screen comes up uncheck the "automatically sync music" This will put it in Manage Music Manually mode. click the music folder and inspect the song titles. if a son has something in the name such a a number before the name title change the song name to remove the numeral. see if it comes back in order. as for losing songs, the ipod will remove songs when you sync if it doesn;t find it in your playlist. this may be whats going on.
I'm a little unclear about what you are trying to do. I'll assume that you have copied a song from one partition to another and now wish to change the song name so as to avoid confusion. To do so you need to call up the 'menu' (press menu button) and under 'song' go to 'load'. There you'll see a list of song names (including the song you have currently loaded and are working on). Just navigate to the song name and press the 'title' button (shift - menu) which will allow you to edit the song name. You don't have to reload the song for the title change to keep and you'll see the new title reflected in the LCD window after you press 'home' to return to the normal view.
I read the manual and found out that the reason the track title information does not display is because you need to set the text scroll setting to manual.

It sounds like you are having a software programming problem and may need to return it wma capble features may be corrupt.
I believe it's actually a firmware issue with the SIR-KEN1. I havethe same setup and have the same exact problem. I have to cycle thru my "SRC" button and get back to Sirius for it to work. Not a happy camper. I read on the Sirius Backstage forums about the firmware, although I have written Directed Electronics (SIR-KEN1 manufacturer) and never received a response.
