PF indicates a Power Failure. Turn off the power supply (for 30 seconds or more) to the unit and then back on, select/touch the range cancel/clear pad and reset the clock. The range should work again, unless there was damage to the control during the power interruption.

What does 5AB mean on clock?

Your display is actually reading "SAB". This is an indication of a mode of operation rather than an error code. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3608491-sabb_or_sab_explanation_kitchen_ranges

Sabbath Mode is a feature that allows the consumer to disable certain features of the range in order to honor the sabbath. Usually this disables the oven, but allows the consumer to still use the surface burners. You cannot defeat it by unplugging the range or turning off the breaker either. You will either have to wait 72 hours for the mode to clear, or figure out how to turn it off.

Somewhere in the owner/operator's manual is a section that refers to "Sabbath Mode". Since all ranges differ in features and operator, you need to refer to the operation section of your owner's manual to find out how to shut the feature off.

If the model number you listed this question under is correct, you need to press and hold the CLOCK button for 3 seconds to clear the Sabbath Mode. "Sab" will flash for about 5 seconds, then return to normal display.

I have a frigidaire ples389dcc as soon as i plug it in it give me a pf code

Good Morning Paul, thank you for your post!

Based off what you have described your Frigidaire range, PLES389DCC, is providing you with an error code of "PF" and "F1" as soon as you turn it on. An error code of "PF" stands for power failure this could be a possible problem with your control panel or power cord.

The error code "F1" stands for a runaway temperature (overheating). This could be an issue with your RTD (Resistance Temperature Detector) or the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). I would recommend performing a reset on your oven and you can do that by disconnecting from your oven for ten minutes. If you continue to have issues with the "F1" error code I would recommend having a professional technician out to your home for proper diagnosis and replacement of any electrical components. Hopefully this information has been helpful. -Matt

Whirlpool Cooktop will not reset

Well the solution was to unplug the 220Volt connection for one minute--plug it back in--reset the clock, hit start and bingo it worked. I found on the back of the stove the technicians schematic, and error codes in a plastic envelope that described the procedure for finding--isolating--and solving the issue by the use of the error codes, which were not avaialable online anywhere but in the diagram and description for a technician's use.
I saved myself $109 dollars by avoiding the call out, but still my breakfast was four hours late!
