Hi - From what you have described the range could possibly be experiencing a faulty element/sensor or the communication to the element from the control board is now compromised. If you are referring to the left front element, the part number is 318178110/MSRP: $65.86. Right front element, part number 316224201/MSRP: $89.60. I would suggest contacting a professional to move forward accurately and properly diagnose the range.

Check the wiring to the element, be careful shock hazard. On my electric range the wires were broken where the element plugs in socket. Socket kits are about $9.00 us If you have a volt meter unplug the element and turn the control on if you have voltage then replace the element. Thanks Tom

It possibly incompatible heating element installed on the oven that's why it pops up when you try to turn on and heat it..

Does the element have continuity??Did you do an amp reading with the element connected?? Do you have voltage at the element terminals??If you have voltage at the element and you don't read amps when unit is on then it's the element.If it's the coil?The board should be replaced.Local appliance store may have it or can order it.

If only the outer ring of the element is getting hot then the element is bad. The elements should have a 5 yr warranty that covers the part only so check your owners manual.
