I have a Nikon D60 and when I take a picture, there is no image. Just a white picture. Can someone please help.

It is you manual setting in White Balance. Look at your EXIF Data on a blue image.

White Balance: Warm-white fluorescent, 0, 0

To change the Info display format, follow the instructions in the "Info Display Format" section of the manual (page 120 in my copy). If you simply want to change the wallpaper image to one of your own, follow the instructions under "Wallpaper" (page 122 in my copy).

The D60 works as SLRs have worked for half a century, using the viewfinder to compose photos. Only recent dSLRs provide the Live View capability, allowing you to use the monitor for that purpose. Nikon introduced this feature with the D3 and the D300. Currently, the least-expensive Nikon with this feature is the D5000.

That's normal for the D60. It works the same way SLRs have worked for half a century: you view and compose through the optical viewfinder, then snap the picture. The D60 lacks the Live View feature of more recent dSLRs; the LCD (not LED) display on the back is for menus, settings, and reviewing pictures after you've taken them. It is not for composing and framing your pictures.

That is a problem that has to do with the Flash...make sure your flash settings are not turned on. If the flash can't find an image...it rotates and usually never finds the image. It's reading in a Flash mode.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the picture review on the back display. If I'm wrong, please please let me know.

You're seeing the highlights. Those are the areas of the picture that are overexposed and thus have lost all detail. That's not necessarily an error, though often it is. The proper solution is to reduce the exposure and shoot again.

The quick solution is to press Up or Down on the multiselector while viewing the picture to change your view of the picture. The camera provides several different views, including Highlights, Histogram, and several screens of Image Data.

No, you have done nothing wrong. The D60 does not have the preview function on the monitor like the compact digital cameras. Nikon gave that function a name. It is called 'Live View'. The D60 does not have a Live View capability. The monitor is used for shooting info, menus, and image reviews. It cannot be used to display the image while shooting. You must use the viewfinder for that, unless you connect the camera to a computer using the Camera Control Pro software from Nikon.

Is your battery weak or old? Is your memory card almost full? The more pictures on the card, the slower it gets.

You have the camera in Highlights mode.. while in playback use the up,down,right,left pad press it up and it will go through different displays like what settings you had the camera in when you took the picture then there is a graph screen... after that one is the highlights display which is what you have it on. Push up one more time to have it on regular playback mode. The manual explains this much better than I just did. If you have the manual you should check it out if my instructions dont help.
