My honda ev6010 engine runs good, but stopped generating power. I checked the fuses and the 20 amp and the 30 amp breakers. They check good.

your carb is blocked and you will have to clean it and also check the filters for blockages

You will void any warranty. The manufacturer usually rates the breakers for a reason and you stand a risk of destroying the generator, not a good idea,.

On the ev6010 Honda generator the posive starter wire is black and was accidently hooked up to the chassis ground wire. Then the start button was pushed and nothing happened. I corrected the wire hookup to the positive side but will not start still

check for a broken wire some where

To determine if it is from the breaker use a

Tong Tester


These would indicate what current is being consumed by the load.

With the engine off, check the exciter brushes and slip rings which supply magnetic power for the alternator winding in the stator. Also, check the motor-to-alternator mechanical coupling. Check the breakers for tripping. To service beyond this point requires a schematic of the alternator, a voltmeter, plus knowledge of what the schematic is telling you. Good luck!

check the condensor fan in the rooof unit. It's the fan blowing on the cpil on the roof.. If it failed, the head preasures can becme excessive andwork the compressor hard causing the breaker to trip. Let me know and good luck, Ned_

Sounds like fuel flow is restricted.
Is the vent cap on the gas tank clear?
Pull the fuel hose off at the carb and let run into a container from the tank......is fuel flow good while filling a cup or two worth of fuel?
If not check filter at fuel switch or at hose connection at tank for restriction.
It takes about 2 minutes to use up fuel in the carb with engine running.
Sure sounds like a fuel problem.

relays are normally in the fuse panel on the left side of dash by knee.
