SOURCE: HP 7660 "Print Cartridge Cradle is Stuck" Message

I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.

Hope that helps!

SOURCE: My printer made a weird noise and now says

Issue The error ' Open Door, Clear Carriage Jam, and then Press Enter ' displays on the product. The following symptoms might also accompany this error:
* The product will not print. * Printing stops unexpectedly. * The carriage does not move.
Try the following solutions in the order presented to resolve the issue. When one of the solutions resolves the issue, there is no need to continue troubleshooting. Solution one: Turn the All-in-One off and on again
1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn off the product. 2. Press the Power button ( ) to turn the product on again.
* If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. * If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution two: Clear any paper jam A carriage jam might follow a paper jam. Follow these steps to check for and remove any jammed paper. Step one: Check for and remove any loose paper from the input tray Remove any loose paper from the input tray, the output tray, and the automatic document feeder (ADF). CAUTION: Do not remove jammed paper at this stage. Step two: Clear a paper jam from the rear access door WARNING: Always clear paper jams through the back door if possible. To avoid tearing the paper and damaging the print mechanism, pull paper from the printer slowly and gently. Avoid touching the internal components of the printer.
1. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer. 2. Remove the back door and remove as much jammed paper as possible.
3.Replace the back door and open the carriage access door. If there is paper visible that cannot be removed through the back door, gently pull it out from the front.
4. Reconnect the power cord and close the printer.
* If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. * If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution three: Make sure that the carriage moves freely
1. With the product turned on, open the cartridge access door. The carriage might try to move into the access area. If so, allow it to move to that position. 2. Without turning off the product, unplug the power cord from the back of the product. WARNING: You must disconnect the power cord to move parts by hand without the risk of an electrical shock. 3. Look in through either the cartridge access door or the output paper tray to make sure that the cartridges are secure in the carriage and not loose. Also, make sure that there are no obstructions under or around the carriage to block it from moving. 4. Make sure the carriage can move freely across the width of the product by gently pushing the carriage to the left and then to the right. Clear any obstructions found. You might have to reach through the output paper tray to access the carriage. 5. Close the cartridge access door and reconnect the power cord to the product. 6. Press the Power button ( ) to turn on the product.
* If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. * If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution four: Remove and reinsert the print cartridges Incorrect installation of the print cartridges can cause the product to show a false carriage jam. Follow these steps to remove, and then reinstall the print cartridges. Step one: Remove the print cartridges
1. Press the Power button ( ) to turn off the product. 2. Open the front of the product to access the carriage. The carriage moves to the center of the product.
3. Unlatch the two print cartridge latches, and then raise the latches. 4. Remove the print cartridges.
Step two: Reinsert the print cartridges
1. One at a time, hold a print cartridge with the printed label up, and then slide the print cartridge into its slot. Repeat this step for the other print cartridge.
# NOTE: Insert the black print cartridge into the slot with the gray latch, and insert the color cartridge into the slot with the blue latch. # Grasp the end of the latch on the cartridge slot with your thumb, and then pull the end of the latch toward you. While holding the latch, press down on the top of the latch until it stops, and then release the end of the latch so that it catches under the tabs. CAUTION: To avoid damaging the product, do not force the latches into place.

3. Close the product cover. A message displays on the control panel to align the print cartridges. 4. Press the Enter button to begin the cartridge alignment. Two pages print. Follow the instructions printed on the second page to complete the alignment. 5. Try the print job again.
* If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting. * If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.

My printer reports a 86.01 error which seems to associated with a paper jam. I have opened it to clear the jam yet there is no paper jammed on the printer. This printer cannot load the roll paper for...

The Carriage is bumping into the Service Station. If the carriage is stuck at the right hand side of the Printer and cannot be moved out to the center of the Print Platen it is because the Service
Station cannot uncap the Printheads. Or the service station is defective or the carriage belt is broken and the carriage can't move.

I am receiving error message of : 86:01 Possible paper jam

Most times when this error occurs it is because of one of three things:

1. Paper jammed in the carriage path that prevents the printhead from moving all the way from left to right. Check closely on the far left and right as paper can be pushed into the interior of the printer by the service station.
2. The printhead cover was not closed properly and the metal ring that that the blue handle is supposed to engage in is catching on the side of the printer.
3. The drive belt has either come off the track or broken. Open the lid and check the black rubber belt that drives the printhead assembly. It should be taunt. If it is loose there is a problem. I have had several 1100 series designjets throw their belt off the tension pulley. You can sometimes reseat it but my experience is that it will get thrown again. If you replace the belt, replace the tensioner at the same time.

HP 8500 all in one printer: error 0x61011bef

0x61011bef is a general error that the chipset in the printer gives instead of a "carriage jam " error message.

Double check inside the printer as well to ensure that there is no bits and peices stuck insde the printer where the carriage assembly ( where the printheads sit) check to make sure that moves freely.
as well as clean the rollers on the back of the printer... silly yes but it has been know to cause an error if there is built up paper dust on them

MP530 KEEPS GIVING US A C510 ERROR OR A 6A00 PROBLEM HOW DO WE SLOVE THIS.

6A00 means the purge assembly on the right where the printhead parks is jammed or stuck. You can look to the right if the carriage is not stuck on the right, see if there is paper or something caught in there. After that it will need a new purge assembly, around $40.00

Hp designjet 500 plus

Problem Description: Carriage-Axis shutdown. Corrective Action: If this error code appeared but was NOT caused by a paper jam, then try the following:
1) Too much friction in the Slider Rod. Enter the Printer Information utility and check the Scan-Axis usage. If the percentage is close to 100%, then lubricate the Slider Rod.
2) The Carriage is bumping into the Service Station. If the carriage
is stuck at the right hand side of the Printer and cannot be moved
out to the center of the Print Platen it is because the Service
Station cannot uncap the Printheads. In this case replace the
Service Station/Aerosol Fan Assembly
3) Perform the Carriage Movement test
