It would appear you have the wrong model remote control. You should have the RMT-15, for the 4080.

I had a d-250 that lost sound. Replace the speaker you can find tiny ones at Radioshack. If you have a unit that is sealed good luck, it took me a long time to crack open the phazer2 to see what is inside it. RMR says that they will repair units as well at a cost.

Two things...
1) press reset on the base unit
2) press and hold for 2-3 seconds the channel button
