SOURCE: Recording Error "Can not record on this disk/E4 54037380

I had that exact same problem. I would record a bunch of dvds with no problems for months and then some and one day it doesn't work. Only this showed up E4 EA03738B. However I've found the solution. Instead of going out and returning the recorder or buying new dvds just purchase a Laser Lense Cleaner. It's a dvd cleaner. Works like a charm.

If you connect a time base corrector box in between the device and dvd recorder, you will have no problem recording anything

SOURCE: After recording a one hour episode, won't recognize the dvd.

Try inserting your DVD media into the PC and doing a 'quick format'. The LG is not seeing what it considers to be media that it can use. It is not seeing that you have inserted recordable media. Sometimes you can reformat the DVD or do a quick media erase, and the LG can then put on its blank "squares" that is uses for its menu selection. I think that it what it does when it 'initializes' a new media.

SOURCE: How to Record TV Programs w/o Cable Box/Satellite Receiver?

Ok, I had this issue. And this is what you need. Even if you have a new HDTV, you need a converter box. The new TVs are not made to send out the signal just take it in. Best price I have seen on converter boxes was H.E.B

1. Antenna to converter box
2. Converter box to VCR
3. VCR to T.V

You will have to leave the converter box on when you are recording or leave it on when you leave the house. Also it has to be on the channel you are recording and the TV needs to be on channel 3 or 4. When you program your VCR it needs to be for the time and stuff. But put it to record channel 3 or 4. Which ever you pick for it to record off of. It really is easy. But I do hate that the people that had this great idea made it to where we can only record from one channel. I am going to try to send a diagram that I drew. Not the best artist, but you can tell what I mean. I can not seem to get it to attach the attachment. But you should not have a problem. Good Luck :-)

I have a Toshiba Theaterwide HD digital ready tv (Model # 56H80). Never got the part to be able to watch digital broadcast programs. Can I still get the part to be able to use the TV?

Yes you can still find a DTV, Digital to Analog OTA tuner, converter box in some locations. Amazon has a number of them listed here, https://www.amazon.com/analog-to-digital-dtv-converters/b?ie=UTF8&node=979935011 . Some even have an option for recording video to a USB drive. For your Toshiba 56H80 TV, make sure to chose one with RF, composite or component video output on the converter. (Note: not all models are in stock. Other vendors will have some as well.)

(My experience with the converter boxes from the start of the change over is that some models failed easily. The power supply transformer failed on one model with the USB recording option. Another got hit by a surge during a thunderstorm.)

Why can't I record from a Samsung TV Model LE40C530 to a USB stick?

Make sure your USB Stick is formatted to the correct format for your TV: QLED and SUHD TVs support FAT, exFAT, and NTFS file systems. Full HD TVs support NTFS (Read Only), FAT16 and FAT32.

NEED TO ADD CODE TO URC REMOTE

Try these instructions and see if they work for your genie remote.

First, have your Genie Mini receiver connected and powered on. Next, grab your RC71 remote and simultaneously hold the "MUTE" + "ENTER" buttons until you see a box appear on your TV screen that says "Applying IR/RF Setup. Please Wait" (this appears after about 5 seconds of holding those buttons). Once complete another dialog box will appear and read, "Your remote is now setup for RF." Click "SELECT" to exit that screen. Next, click the "MENU" button, scroll down to "Settings & Help", then click on "Settings", scroll down to and click on "Remote Control", then click "Program Remote". Next you will have two options, either "Program TV" or "Program Audio Device". Click "Program TV", this takes you to a screen where you need to select what BRAND your TV is. After you have selected your TV brand you will have to select the TV Model ( I recommend looking at the sticker on the back of your TV for the accurate Model number or using your current TV remote to find the model number from the menu screen on your TV for fastest and best results). Once the correct model number is selected, AIM your RC71 remote at the TV and it will AUTOMATICALLY program!

We recently connected to Direct TV...I want to transfer some old western TV Shows I recorded on my Direct TV DVR Recorder to VCR Tape. I was told by the people at Direct TV that I would need to contact you...

You can try this: Connect your DirecTv to VCR with Red/White/Yellow cables. Then the VCR to your TV with the same type of cables. Make sure the VCR is set to the video input, not the tuner. Turn your TV to the correct video input. Get the program ready on the DVR as if you were going to watch it. Press record on the VCR and then play on the DVR. At the end of the program, press stop on both. You may have a problem with the video recording properly. Some stations broadcast with copyright protection.

Hooking up DVC/VCR to HD cable box/TV

Hi Seve.
Not sure what is meant by 'HD cable box'.
If you mean a DSD (Digital Satellite Decoder), then the built-in firmware prevents recording (of composite video signal).
In our country the SP requires that you buy a dedicated 'Explora' decoder which allows recording.
HD cable technology may have introduced similar anti-piracy measures.
{reminder to me: Google "HD cable TV" :)
